Good solution for virtual office
What do you like best?
It works well for our business situation, which is a 100% online company with employees scattered across various states. We can tran
sfer calls to another employee even though the other employee may be on the other side of the country. The flow of the calls coming in can be changed as needed. Support has generally been helpful.
What do you dislike?
Their setup screen/dashboard is confusing. Over time, I've gotten accustomed to it and can find things better. (Fortunately, they don't change things about every time you log in, like GoDaddy, where it requires a constant search of, "So where did they move that function?")
What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
We are a 100% online company with employees working out of their homes in various states. We needed a phone system that was unified, and RingCentral has solved that need. We have used RingCentral since we began the company six years ago.
I have a desk phone that RingCentral supplied (I probably bought it, but at any rate, it came from them and has their brand name on it). This is a VoIP phone, and I have a slow internet speed (3.5 Mbps download), so if I'm opening a web page while on the phone, the phone connection stutters pretty badly. But if I'm only using the phone, it's fine (usually). The desk phone works very well for me, enabling me to keep work calls separate from personal calls. Well, I think you can do that by using the RingCentral app on your cell phone, but at any rate, I prefer having the desk phone when I'm working.
Each employee on the team has their own extension and their own set of rules, related to how phone calls should flow during their office hours...

I had to verify whether or not an account had been closed. Angelina quickly looked up the account, and verified it was closed. She was courteous and prompt. Issue resolved quickly! Yay! more »

Original support agent could not help. I called back and got Cris my TAM. Cris was great and exceeded my support expectations and completely solved the issue very efficiently. more »

The customer service rep was very pleasant and knowledgeable. He made a case report and said that he would call back in a couple of hours to see if I had received the fax that I was inquiring about. He indeed followed through and was happy that the problem was resolved. I only wish all customer support reps were as pleasant and followed through on their promises. more »

I always find the customer service helpful, knowledgeable and very friendly. I have not yet had a bad experience when dealing with the staff in the call center. more »

The person that was helping me provision the phones ensured that every phone was online. She called back later to ensure we could program all of our phones including the ones that where arriving. more »

Great experience. The only feedback I can give that could use a little improvement- when submitting the case at success.ringcentral, it was a little confusing trying to determine whether I needed to be entering my info, as the account administrator, or the info of the person that was actually having the issue. Joyce is a 10+. She was patient and very professional. The issues I had were multiple and quite complicated. Joyce hung in there and got through it all with a smile. To make things easier: For Users who are very much alike, it would be nice if I could copy a current User's info for creating the new User in the system. more »

The staff is knowledgeable and has a friendly attitude. I had to chat more than once is because of my time strain that I had to leave during the chat. Issues were easily resolved by the call, chatting took longer time. The initial waiting time today was much much longer than yesterday. Overall I'm happy with the support team more »

We were happy to talk to him, and we hope that he keeps up the same spirit of customer satisfaction throughout. David was very attentive and persisted until the problem was solved. He has great communication skills and remained patient when I did not. He really is doing a great job and stands out among all the support people in different companies that I have had contact with. more »

Once my issue was given to Tier 2 it was resolved VERY quickly. The Tier 1 representative was very friendly and tried hard, but I was on the phone for 3 hours with him before he handed over to Tier 2. I feel this should have been done sooner than 3 hours. I did not know it was an option or I would have requested it be moved to tier 2. Other than that, everything was quickly resolved by Tier 2. more »

I really appreciated how our support tech not only took my call at first, but also called back to follow up on our issue when we were unable to solve it without the proper passwords, and had to consult with co-owner. They made sure that we resolved the issue and then helped with a few other issues we were having as well without seeming at all annoyed about the additional questions. I'm sure they were menial tasks, but they didn't make it feel that way at all. Our tech was very supportive and warm. more »
