I have been a American Jo.e Shield customer for at 4 years and have had to call the twice once for s ceilings fam that that they never fixed these people just take your money and then when it comes fixing thing they find they me or do and say it's not covered in your contract

This company is a scam. We live in Topeka and they were unable to contract with a plumber in the area to check out our 15 y/o water heater, the one from Wichita comes 2 days a wk and wouldn’t work with our schedule. As a result we had to buy one on our own or wait more than a week. The same thing happened last summer with our air conditioner. They don’t pay the contractors enough but are happy to pocket your premium and $100 service call charge

I have been in real estate for over 20 years. I know the value of a home warranty but DO NOT use this company. I fell for their five star reviews on their site and should have researched more. I have been charged as much as $900 over my service fee for work they state is covered. I’m a retired realtor and I know the value of a home warranty but not this company. This is a scam! The first technician they sent told me my refrigerant was low and I would need to fill it, for am out of pocket cost of $300.00. I told the guy I had to have a refrigerant leak, because I have put more refrigerant end at the end of last summer. He said that my home warranty company doesn’t want them to look for leaks, he is just supposed to add refrigerant to get the ac cooling again. I refused to add coolant. Our A/C broke last Tues in the June Texas heat. AHS sent a tech from an A/C company on Thursday. He diagnosed a bad compressor. Since then we have contacted AHS five times. They have never reached out to contact us. When we call they never have our correct diagnosis, we correct them and they tell us they are waiting for "autho". American Home Shield has been a bit of a nightmare to work with. They don't seem to care about emergencies and state that as long as work is completed within 48 hours, that's acceptable. They work with sub-par contractors and refuse to replace items that CLEARLY need to be replaced because they want to save their money. I'm really not sure what we are paying for. I would not recommend this company to anyone. If you pay for your own service, you'll be better off.

Bad experience with customer service. They don’t know what service is. Tried to send us an electrician with a a 2.1 rating. To top it off, the ratings on their on website show they are substandard. Not even a 3. No way I will let anyone with a record like this near my house, especially for electrical. What a joke. AHS tried to force them on us. We canceled. Take a look at the company responses here; they only respond to the happy reviews. Unbelievably terrible company.
