No sleep The front desk didn't show payment from hotels.com, so originally wanted to charge me. Then I was overcharged on taxes stated on my confirmation email. The man at the front desk gave me a key for room 201; it wouldn't open the door - we learned why when a woman opened the door. Another family already had that room (?!) went back to the office (in a different building) and was put in room 102 (which happens to be right where the only entrance is to the whole building). Very poor customer service. We was not given a room like we reserved, we had a smoke alarm with a dead battery that chirped for 2 days before they would come change the battery. Our condo smelled like smoke and it is a non smoking building. Very disappointed in the customer service, they did not try to accommodate us at all they said because we reserved thru a tire party site there wasn't anything they would do.
Hidden Costs - Way Overpriced I prepaid via Expedia, supposedly for everything. Went to check in, and was charged another ridiculous amount by the hotel for a "Resort Fee". This is not a resort. It's similar to a cheap "No-Tell Motel" as far as furnishings, decor, etc. Broken cabinet door in the kitchen, broken safety lock on the door, and weirdly not even a toilet paper hanger in the bathroom. 1 remote for 2 TVs, and the cable is all messed up. Close to beach Absolutely awful ... Room 102 tower 2.. everyone who entered or left the building sounded as they walked through our room. At least 100 people on vacation had a loud ole time. ..Moved to a much smaller room on room on 6th ,without compensation.. Now at 9,10' 11am the housekeeper was absolutely relentless. Atlantica experience The ocean view was great but had trouble from the minute I checked in from the wrong accomodations to severe lack of parking to have to cross the street and park 2 parking lots over was absolutely ridiculous. To be told by the staff that the room accomodations I booked in April was not available and when questioned I was told I could cancel and book somewhere else during the week of the solar eclipse, very funny, so I felt I was stuck. Won't stay again The pool was shut down half of our stay, NEVER could get the internet to contact, when we arrived none of the showers had curtains and it took two days of calling back to back and finally chasing a house keeper down to even get one! House keeping staff were rude. All of the remote batteries were dead and there was hair all over the bathroom like it wasn't even clean. Front desk stuff were always rude and made us feel to be a bother to them. The list goes on. Never again.
Worst hotel I've ever stayed at! Having stayed sat this hotel seriously makes me rethink of ever booking on Expedia again...the room was nasty. Not all all what the pictures look like. No vending in our building. Our room was nasty. I had to call to have them come clean the fridge and removes the nasty rug in our floor that smelled like sour milk. No one showed up. Older but could have been better This hotel is cheaper than others. The hotel is in a good location if you want to be in the middle of all the Myrtle Beach crazy. The problem we had with it was that it was not clean. The floors everywhere the trim the walls everything. We didn't mind it being older inside but not being clean is a no-go for us returning. We thought it was unusual also that the daily maid service was only for towels and trash nothing else.
Pass the buck First , the room was not ready. It took over 1 1/2 half past check in before the room was ready. When we finally got into our room, the safe didn't work. Asked numerous times and we were told " sorry" but it was never fixed in the week we were there. The master shower door did not work. We could close it, but we couldn't get it opened.
