We were in the St. Pete's area for spring break and went to the Pier on a rainy day. On the drive in, we saw BellaBrava on a corner near the marina and pier entrance, and thought it looked nice. We ended up not being able to find any decent places to eat at the pier itself--(at the coconut place, or whatever it's called, we magically turned invisible, so finally gave up and left). We decided to stop at BellaBrava on the way out. We sat at a window seat and were able to look out at the beautiful downtown waterfront, while munching on paninis and salads. The food was terrific. One of the best paninis I've ever had (including Italy). Service was attentive and about right.
Our second visit was for dinner a couple of nights later. We made a reservation at the last minute and up stuck in a dark corner booth next to the bathroom in a section that was totally unoccupied. Guess we paid for not making reservations sooner! Dinner was quite good. My pizza was decent--although I didn't know "cherry peppers" have the spice of a jalapeno, so ended up with one spicy pizza. My teens had burgers and salads. All were good. We had the homemade potato chips with gorganzola sauce as a started. They were fab.
All in all, the lunch experience was much better, because the view was more fun and the menu is different. Dinner was decent enough, but we didn't go to Florida to sit in a dark corner. I would definitely go here again, but would stick to the lunch menu.
Almost forgot to mention: the restaurant had free valet parking for dinner, which was extremely helpful. The parking in that area can be tricky.
