This place is truly horrific. I do not like to bad mouth unless a place deserves it. This place does. First off, my mom has been here less than three days. The day she got here was 4 days after a surgery to fix her broken femur and rebuild her knee after a bad fall. She is non weight bearing right now. Her first day, they helped her to the bathroom. I have had loved ones stay at Brandel Manor for rehabilitation after being in the hospital. There is a physical therapy room in which there are many different tools, machines or equipment to help people walk again, use there hands again, gain fine motor skills, etc. There are activities for patients. When a loved one is in a rehab or nursing home they need their loved ones to check on them and make sure their needs are being met. There are many good people working here.
My father has been at Brandel for over three years. He has made such special friendships there with both residents and staff. We couldn't ask for more loving care for him and our family as he is in his last days of life. Hospice has also been wonderful as they are also caring for him. Our family would publically like to thank all of his nurses and others who have been such a tremendous comfort to our dad, "Bingo Bob". We highly recommend Brandel Manor.
Now I admit that I do not understand the inner workings of this place. I am not a care giver, nor am I an employee, so I am only experiencing this place in small doses. However, first impressions do make a difference. My first impression of this place is that patients can urinate on the floor and it will still be there 2 hours later as I leave. Unannounced tour of the building during breakfast. I was pleasantly surprised to see the staff & residents happy and smiling. The building presented well with no odors, very clean. All staff housekeeping, maintenance, dietary, licensed & department managers were amazingly kind & caring.
