I retained Cordell and Cordell for my divorce in March 2016. My divorce was final July 2016. It was to be a fairly simple one but received pushback from my wife. The ease of Cordell and Cordell's weekly billing and online notes kept me updated throughout. No divorce is inexpensive and I went in with eyes open. Not sure how they are Fathers law firm. I was assigned to lawyer Heather Oiger for over a year and it lost time on a false accusation where there was clear evidence and a police report I didn't do what I was accused of. Rather than fight the accusation Heather Oiger advised that exchanges to be done at the Court house was "as close to standard as we can get", which was not true. This law firm is a joke as a father I fail to see how they can call themselves a law firm for dads. What an actual joke I'd be embarrassed to work for this firm. My lawyer showed up 2.5 hours late to my mediation and still charged me for the time. They do not reply to ANYTHING in a timely manner. They fired my attorney and for months gave me NOTHING by way of updates. Then the new attorney randomly emails me with a garbage answer about why my case was not closed 4 months after the court finalized the orders!! They failed to ... read more

My attorney, Ben Redleaf was very lenient on my ex wife. I gave all purchases made during marriage to my ex and I still had to pay money to her. He gave two extensions to her and her attorney without my prior consent. I had to provide bank statements in full detail, he changed wording in the decree on stipulations for me getting my belongings and ended up screwing me over. I did not have a positive experience at all. My ex-wife and I were NOT contesting custody or division of property. The only question was spousal support (similar to alimony.) My attorney kept telling me that my case was NOT a spousal support case and that I should not have to pay it. This drug out for months and finally, before mediation, my attorney advises me to concede $500/month for 12 or more months. If you've heard the ads on the radio and were thinking these guys are the ones to represent you, think again DAD! The one thing these guys are really good at is billing you! Almost a year after filling for divorce, I'm not much further than I was on day one and I have over $14,000 in expenses to show for nothing. They first assigned a junior lawyer at $175/hour then after we blew through $1,500 just get the filing. Then they switched me to a more "experienced" lawyer without telling me it was a $290/ hr rate.
