After finding the colorful and affordable Lucy collection online through a friend, I made my way to the Hoover, AL showroom. Ashley was my design consultant. She took the time to work with me in the store to put together some amazing additions to my living room. I can't wait for everything to arrive! I have always been very pleased with the interactions I have had with the Birmingham Ethan Allen location over the years. We recently purchased a new home and I wanted to find midcentury-inspired bedroom furniture for my college aged daughter’s new room and once again, I ended up at Ethan Allen. Ashley White was my design consultant this time and she helped me find just the right pieces to create the visual we were looking for. She has continued to be very helpful by keeping me informed as the furniture has made its way through the system on its way to us. I can’t say enough about the amazing talent of Ashley White! I found a bed I loved on the Ethan Allen website which brought me to the showroom. Kathryn Davidson, design specialist at the Ethan Allen Design Center in Hoover, Alabama, poured every ounce of her talent, mind, and heart into helping my husband and me downsize to a new home out of state. She has helped us from my first phone call to Ethan Allen last October to now - just 3 weeks until we move from Alabama to Florida to be near our son, daughter-in-law and soon to arrive, baby granddaughter! Kathryn has made a time that could have been very stressful a JOY. Our new home is much smaller than our current one, and noting "fit" our new home. Kathryn took as many pieces (a tall entertainment center transformed to china cabinet) and coordinated it with the gorgeous Saxton server, trestle table and six chairs for the dining area. She helped us choose the most comfortable sofa, chairs, area rug, elegant teal Ming media cabinet, and leather ottoman (in shark's fin!) with the needs of our entire family - from 80 years young to a tiny infant who will grow to crawl and walk. She LISTENED to us accounted for our careers, lives, family, health needs and personalities in every suggestion she made for us. She took notes on EVERY DETAIL (of which there were many) on color and decorating preferences I have. She also UPDATED the looks of two bedroom suites (master and guest) that are my old "keepers" -- one of them an Ethan French Country pale gold suite that I purchased at the Birmingham Ethan Allen store 24 years ago. She transformed the guest room from a juvenile look to the most soothing, sophisticated and comforting look with a few accents, painting and area rug. She designed a study around furniture we have already into a current, streamlined and welcoming room. The nursery for our granddaughter features the Disney Wish Upon a Star crib in mouse gray: Kathryn visited us and looked at EVERY PIECE of my other old furniture I wanted to retro-fit for the nursery -- including my son's now 31 year-old childhood rocker. She volunteered to make the blinds for our home work well for the hot weather we are not used to and to make sure every detail for that home's interior is ready for us as we finally have the opportunity to live near our son and whole wonderful family. My husband and I so greatly appreciate Kathryn, all associates at the Hoover Design Center, and the entire Ethan Allen Company for going beyond merely selling furniture to helping our family make a move so that a calming, beautiful, serene interior greets us at the outset. I will purchase ONLY Ethan Allen furniture when I have decorating needs. The company has stayed true to its mantra since its beginning. THANK YOU, KATHRYN AND ETHAN ALLEN!
