Nothing special. The food was nothing near amazing let alone great, just mediocre. If it weren't for the unique concept this restaurant would be rated 1 star. Because seriously, for the price you pay, you'd expect a lot more, at the very least I expected either the food be ridiculously amazing OR the ambiance to be completely breathtaking but it was neither. Food quality is lacking. I've been there twice now. Was hoping the second time would be better. The kids enjoyed the experience.
We left this place before we ate. Strange approach to food. Didn't make any sense to me.
Service was horrible. The worst I ever experienced in my life. We were greeted by the hostess and taken to our table. She described how we choose our food and then take it to the grill. After getting our food and taking it to our table, our waitress never came to take our beverage order. No water was even poured. There was only three other tables in the restaurant so it's not like the waitress was slammed. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Clever concept tht failed in execution. If you have been to a Mongolian grill you will recognize this, just here it does not serve just Asian cuisine. The primary grill chef on my night IMO was not on task; he was training a new person, schmoozing the customers (I guess for the tip jar) and working on his Benihanna type entertainment skills (lots of drops). Felt the description didn't fit what we found upon arrival.
The last time we went the cooks were very lively and did more of a show. They also did not do anything for my son's birthday which we had told them about. The show and the birthday was the reason we went there.
The place is a bit overwhelming at first - it's noisy, usually crowded, and people are walking all over the place. You basically go to the salad bar & take whatever you'd like; Same goes for your meal but after you make your selection, you have to take it to the grill & stand there for 5 minutes(but generally longer depending on how busy they are) until it's cooked. We've had the pleasure of going to the Fire + Ice in Tahoe every summer so when we heard this one was opening up closer to home we were excited. Perhaps it was an off night but we were a bit disappointed. The tables and floor were sticky, probably because of the open grill. The "clean" plates stacked for use, seemed to have a greasy/oily feel to them; and it seemed as if the meat and veggie bar were not stocked often enough because we had to ask them to refill certain items on a couple of trips up.
