The staff was excellent and professional, it was the condition of the property that is causing the poor review. The hotel markets itself as boutique but is simply a subprime hotel with a new coat of paint. The lights in the room kept flickering on and off, the Smart-tv did not function and nicest part of the room is the tiny bathroom.
The restaurant and amenities were closed which was not mentioned on the listing. The noise transmission between floors was not good either. On the plus side the staff was wonderful. The photo shown in listing is a cool area but this was locked throughout our stay.
Give me the bed type I reserved When I book a room type well in advance, I expect the hotel to hold that type of room for me. When I want a king bed that is what I want.
Lots of problems with the room but helpful staff Fridge door was broken and hanging off on arrival. Phone did not work to reception. The window in the room could not be opened. I was woken by a carbon dioxide alarm on my last day in the morning.
Property was obviously an old Best Western that was rebranded in the cheapest possible way. Pretty sure it was not any better than the previous hotel. Not an inexpensive hotel and was told that no housekeeping is provided during my 3 night stay! Parking? Additional fee that was not disclosed at check in. Free shuttle? Yeah....was not running because of the Boston Marathon (Why do you think I was there? That was a planned use)
Stay Away The hotel is near Cambridge Fresh Pond, a beautiful place. The bed was comfy. That's it. The room was ugly. The tiny window showed an ugly parking lot. The bathroom was disgusting. So was the curtain behind which you had to hide everything. The television never worked properly. The fridge was crummy. Both the noise of the crummy fridge and the air conditioner and heater were loud. The room had no desk to work on or chairs to work on. This was a 4 star Hilton room! Very funny. Stay away!!
Not my best stay Overall was not impressed. Due to COVID, there is no bar, room service nor are any of the very nicely pictured communal spaces open. Also, you need to ASK specifically for your room the be seviced otherwise no one even comes in to empty the trash or change towels. No one mentioned this to me when I checked in but it was printed on a tiny piece of paper you can't read without glasses!
