I have been taking groups of 15-20 people up to Big Bear for the past 3 years and we have stayed at Golden Bear Cottages Resort every year. Their cabins are great and there are so many sizes to choose from. The staff is kind and can help you out in all of your activities. From hiking, skiing, or snowshoeing, they can direct you. The staff is also like family. We actually made cookies one year and invited Golden Bear's handyman over for a sweet dessert with us! Family owned and right down the street from the slopes, Golden Bear is a great getaway for any family, church group, or adventurer. Thanks for the memories to Don and the staff!!

We just returned from our 4 day stay at Golden Bear Cottages. We had a great time. The staff is extremely accommodating and very friendly. The cabin we stayed in was the perfect size and had almost everything you could think of stocked in the kitchen....from pots, pans, spatulas, baking pans, coffee pot, flatware, dishware, I can go on and on! Our cabin(#16 Koala Bear)was clean and decorated in rustic mountain furnishings just like we had hoped. We would definitely stay at Golden Bear Cottages in the future. Thanks! "Top Rating. I contacted Golden Bear Cottages in behalf of my husband and his strike team who were fighting the Butler 2 fire. His team, consisting of 22 firefighters with 5 engines was in need of a good nights sleep after sleeping in parking lots for three nights. The folks at Golden Bear Cottages could not have been more helpful. They set aside enough cottages to meet the firefighter's needs and in addition offered them rates that were affordable. Golden Bear Cottages resort is the only mountain retreat we have ever liked well enough to return to, and we do return a couple of times every year. The owners always treat us special. The grounds are always being improved, and the historic cabins are tastefully furnished. The houskeeping staff is so friendly and they keep the cabins very clean and tidy. You will not be disappointed with the superb service and family atmosphere. We really like the clean large family-sized historic cottages. It's really great that you can find Golden Bear Cottages on the internet on the only spanish language site we could find for hotels in Big Bear at www.BigBearHoteles.com

What a blessing it was to find this place in Big Bear Lake! With our hectic schedule in the city, we needed a place to relax and spend quality time together. Golden Bear is the place! It is close to home (only about an hour), but it is like a different world. The people at the resort are so friendly. They even ask if they can do special things for you. They treated our 3 children like they were their own, and treated us like family. That's refreshing! We plan to go back in the winter too, so our kids can enjoy the snow.
