I did not get the chance to stay here, which is the problem. The room I booked had free cancelation, however after about 4 phone calls and 5 emails, they still have not canceled the room, nor confirmed that they cancelled it. Each time I am told I have to call or email somewhere else. Each time I call or email the new contact, someone tells me to call a different number (generally a number I already called, and even once the same number I called to talk to that person). TERRIBLE! WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!! Visiting for the World Cup festivities June 17-19. On the day of 18 th while I was out for most of the day and I arrive to my room around10:30 pm. The next day June 19 in the morning the people across my room came to tell me that they had been robbed on the 18th their valuable items (watch, cell phones, chargers, Beats earphones, clothing ) were missing from their room which they noticed the evening of the 18th. Stayed here with my husband. We chose this hotel because of its history. We liked that the hotel is close to everything. The bed in our room need to be replaced immediately. It is so hard and sags in the middle. Our backs still hurt from how uncomfortable it was. The bed frame was too big for the bed and stuck out on the sides. The staff isn’t particularly friendly. Overall, this wasn’t the worst place I have ever stayed in but certainly not the best. I was expecting more for the price.

The place has deteriorated a lot since 6 years ago ……. Sadly whoever runs the hotel is trying to please everyone and therefore pleases nobody. It’s a wonderful historic building, but is dilapidated and dirty-and not in a “ nostalgic “ way …….. it looks and feels neglected and the foyer is dark and not welcoming at all . The elevator is not “ out of service “ it is - out of operation completely . The bathroom in our room was a partition room in one corner , and open to the bedroom / ceiling. Absolutely AMAZING! My husband and I stayed here and we are definitely coming back (second trip already booked). The staff was friendly, professional and very personalble. I recommend this hotel to anyone who visits Guadalajara.
