Joe, you are the "proud owner" of a vehicle equipped with a new style of transmission (CVT...continuously variable transmission) which does not shift. It is designed to reduce pollution by consuming less fuel by improving the gear ratio gradually as your speed increases as opposed to having to wait till 12-15 mph for it to shift into 2nd gear, 17-21 mph for 3rd & 35 mph or above for overdrive. We consistently see failure in the 60,000 to 100,000 mile range compared to 120,000 to 170,000 miles for shifting transmissions. Your CVT worked good when the fluid was cold but slipped when it got hot. We headed you back to the dealer as it was still under warranty. I called you this morning & you told me they did not address your problem. I understand you're over the mileage for the warranty now but their service advisor said the notes made on their repair order should help if your problem persists. Please remember, we can check it out again if it would provide peace of mind for you. Thanks for your review....Gary J.
