Great location being close to campus. 1-bd apartments reasonably well built but walls thin and so one can hear conversations, TV noise, music etc played by neighbors. Can be stressful at times if one gets a noisy neighbor(s). Adding new electricity charges can make monthly rents very unpredictable and expensive. But management team and Julie in particular always considerate and very helpful. One reason, apart from location, why I continue to stay here.

Great location and the included furnishings made it very convenient. Unfortunately the walls are paper thin so you can hear your neighbors every movement including alarms, music, conversations, etc. also street traffic noise is constant at all hours. The only other downside is the all included WiFi is so absolutely so terrible it’s hardly usable for streaming/FaceTiming and electricity is no longer included in the rent price like it used to be. It can be quite an expensive additional charge during those wonderfully South Bend winter months!

I am completing my second year of living at the Overlook at Notre Dame with a lease for a third (Fall 2019- Spring 2020). My position as a post doctoral researcher at Notre Dame and in Rome, requires the best possible support resources as the Hesburgh library and computer assistance. Most of my research is done here and I intend to remain at the Overlook as long as possible. It is reassuring that all of the staff at the Overlook make a person feel at home, that one has a safe harbor, a compact and efficient living space, and when any need arises, a welcome from the leasing office immediately. On a lighter side, I love the exercise room and cordiality at the adjacent Danny Boy Pub.
