First of all, this review is for the present owners of Solero, it would be a much more positive review for the previous owners. Positives: This community is relatively new and very close to many activity and shopping destinations. It has direct access to the expressway system for all of South Florida. The buildings are built to hurricane standards. The rents are about average for the immediate area for comparable units. Negatives: The new owners obviously took a "low bid" approach to hiring the landscape contractor, there was a precipitous drop off in the quality and appearance of the grounds with the new contractor. The landscaping was a point of pride with the previous owners and the reason many people moved into the community. The cleanliness of the hallways of the buildings also became an issue, cigarette butts and other garbage left in the hallways for weeks. Not to mention the resident trash bags leaking into the hallways after being out for the entire weekend, imagine living with piles of trash as you walk to your apartment. All of the above could be solved with a new company approach to hiring qualified contractors and changing the trash pickup schedule for a Saturday pickup, other nearby apartment communities have Saturday pickup. Cigarette smoking infiltrating units, don't even think about moving to Solero if you cannot handle breathing cigarette smoke all day and night, apparently cigarette smokers have rights at Solero. Solero can be brought back to its previous standards with a proactive approach by the new owners, it does not cost that much more to go with more reputable and qualified bidders. Unfortunately the residents of Solero are paying the price for a tight fisted corporate management style that will not benefit anyone in the long run.
