The Oar was a great place for an outdoor summer dinner. Food was excellent and the service was great. I can highly recommend the Oar !

Open Table was a great way to book this outdoor dining gem on the south shore of Long Island. We were seated right away, some without reservations had 40 minute wait because it was a lovely summer day. The wait staff were courteous and attentive, the food delicious, the view wonderful. Sh...don't tell too many people about this place, it's hard to get a seat without Open Table on your side!
Took my out of town visiting family here for lunch. Lovely view, fresh food, reasonable pricing.
Went here for a night out with the girls and we weren't disappointed. Had a table outside with a lovely view, the service was great, and the food delicious!
This popular resto always serves good food w/personable waitstaff & bartendress. We shared an order of clams casino & the lobster roll sandwich was chock full -- and not with filler as many restos do. One should make a reserv during the summer as folks were trying to get a table on a Friday. During the cooler months I always order their fabulous soups...really good.
We have not had a bad experience here yet (patron for 3 years). The staff is amazing from management on down:) Bands are always great. Came for our daughter's birthday. Each person's meal was perfect, and our daughter didn't want a big deal made over her birthday... so the waiter kept saying "...for the non-birthday girl..." LOL. We have been to the OAR many times over the years usually without a reservation. We thoroughly enjoy the 'buck a shuck" oysters at the bar.
This is a great place to eat. Sitting on the water, eating great food with a nice drink. Life is good at the Oar!
