Definitely a once in a lifetime experience! Guides were great, staff were great, camps were great, food was great. Overall a tremendous operation.
Just a couple of comments offered in the interest of improving the customer experience going forward...
First, we had several mechanical issues (overheating, axle/balljoints, electrical systems) with the vehicles over the course of the trip, causing delays and some frustration. Obviously there is a lot of wear and tear on these vehicles, but maybe a bit more attention to preventive maintenance would help.
Second, toward the end of our trip we experienced significant rain and flooding at Tirangire National Park. We got stuck in a flooded stream -- understandable -- but then continued to the camp via alternative routes after significant delays. It was well after dark and the roads into the camp were seriously flooded -- enough in my view to introduce meaningful risk to customers. I understand that the guides mission is to get the customers to camp, but perhaps they should be given more discretion/direction to look for alternatives if conditions/circumstances warrant it.
Again, our overall experience was truly outstanding and I don't blame any of the staff or guides. Just wanted to provide the feedback...
Looking forward to our next adventure,
