UPDATE: In retrospect, I am unhappy with Pella Proline windows. They ice up terribly in the cold (even the moderately cold) winter conditions. It has been a major disappointment. My updated advice is do not buy Pella Prolines in the Chicago area. They are not built for the extreme weather conditions in the midwest. My gripe is not with Olson, per say. A week after Olson gave us a quote, we signed a contract to have the work done, since it was the best quote we found and the Angie's List reviews were so glowing of the company in general. I was not pleased with the experience at all. The man showed up without a display so I wasn't even able to see an example of their product. He included frames in the estimate when we didn't ask for that and seemed kind of pushy about getting us to purchase that as well. I didn't like his presentation at all and we will not be using him in the future.

Dropped the ball big time on customer service. I had selected this company because of their longevity in the area and their reputation for quality. I did not haggle over price - I was most concerned with quality products, installation and finishing for my home. Unfortunately the scheduling and management of the services was very badly handled and added an extra week onto the end of the project after the windows were installed. It was a nightmare. First of all, they came on a day that it had rained and they tracked mud in through the house and I actually had to tell them to wipe their feet off. After the windows were installed I couldn't close or lock them. I called them back out several times and they always gave me excuses for the problems without fixing anything. Because the windows are 1-2'' longer than the standard sizes, the company offered to use the standard sized windows to save us money, and then bring up the windows 2'' from the floor. Told us to invest in Pella since we are not planning to move for a long time. More of a sales focus versus other companies from which we obtained estimates.
