About Us Palatka Flooring has been in business since 1963, longer than any other store that sells floor covering in Palatka. We didn’t open yesterday and we aren’t going to close tomorrow. We are owned and operated by three generations of the Watts family who were all born and raised in Palatka. Difficult to tell if they do good work from our perspective. Stopped into the store, was met by Fred who was very helpful with samples, ideas etc. He made a visit to the house in Welaka with a craftsman, took measurements and said he'd be back in touch with a quote and that's the last we heard from him. Made calls to the store left voice mails, a fellow salesman took a message for him and nothing. No return call, nothing. Fred, Franco, and the Palatka flooring team did such a great job helping us select and install new plank flooring over our existing ceramic tiles! Horrible customer service. After visiting the store, we were very excited about the prospects of a home visit to determine the next steps and even took home a couple floor samples to ponder colors. Vinyl flooring, carpet and other work was discussed but no one ever came or called to cancel the appointment. Several days passed before I took the samples back to the store and expressed my dissatisfaction with the lack of customer service. It truly didn’t seem as if we mattered. Thanks Fred, Dave & Rick for a fabulous experience. Fred is a top notch salesman. Showed us all the different options available, came to our home to measure when he said he would & explained the warranties & how to properly maintain the wooden floor. Dave & Rick did a fabulous job on installation. Very professional, did a great job installing both the hard floors & the carpet & moving the furniture.
