Building a new house, our contractor sent me to Great Floors to select flooring, countertops and tile. The recommended sales person was super friendly and helpful - UNTIL everything was paid for. When things went wrong, he took no responsibility and avoided then ignored my attempts to communicate. He knew exactly what I wanted and ordered, and yet, that is not what I got. As of June 2021, Great Floors now requires 100% prepayment of all products and services with a total less than $10,000 (accordingly to Brett and their general manager). This is a completely unreasonable business practice. Go elsewhere.
Run as far away from this company – at least the Seattle Store – as you can. Having spent around $6,000 for the purchase and installation of luxury vinyl plank, I cannot recommend them. The product itself seems fine. Everything else is unprofessional and sub-par. From the start, my salesperson did not seem all that interested in making the sale. Do not believe what the salesperson says about how long the job will take! The length of job was grossly underestimated even taking into account the additional work. Had the work done in Bellingham and would definitely not use the same sales man, Layne, if I ever have the need for new floors again and will share the information with friends. We visited GREAT FLOORS in Kennewick, Washington, looking for carpet last night, December 9th. We found a roll of carpet that we liked at $1.99 per square foot (on sale), and walked out planning to purchase it tonight, the 10th, for $689.27, after we verified the dimensions again. That price included the price of an upgraded pad. We went back there tonight and they had jacked up the price to $938.98, saying that they had to add 10 more yards to cover our floor space. Purchased a home in the Jubilee Lacey area for seniors. All we needed was to get our carpets replaced. We choose a stock carpet so that there would be no delays. Even went as far and paid in full. So the carpet was to be replaced on August 13 between 8 and noon. We agreed. That time frame was just perfect for us. So that morning we had movers load our belongings onto the moving truck and headed to Jubilee. Honestly I wish I could give negative stars. We originally decided to get our home tiled with another company, but they were going to subcontract the work so we went to Great Floors. They promised me they do everything in house and that they would price match our other bid. They were even going to do it in 7 days instead of the 14 days the other company said it would take. We went here to check out carpet as two people recommended them. The salesman was nice enough, and we picked out 2 carpet styles. The gentlemen who came out to measure was really nice and professional. However, when it came time to get quotes, the salesman flat out refused to give us quotes in writing. We decided we would NOT do business with them if they would not provide a written quote.
Great Floors is the worst! Don't go, don't hire...ever. From the corporate top down to local manager & service staff - terrible customer service and nothing but problems. This includes trying to get a refund for installation that never appears to be available more than a day or two out. Latest was requesting a refund with a follow up saying so sorry, I accidentally charged you again instead of refunding after the 1st charge was never approved initially.
