4.5/5. One of my loved ones (LO) was ill and I had to make sure they were in a safe and comfortable rehabilitation center to rest and relearn vital life skills. The most amazing thing that Ozanam Hall is able to coordinate is to send me/family members a daily email with the covid count, any resident expirations, anticipated date of reopening, along with weekly messages. Through these emails it seemed as if they truly want to get to the point where they can finally allow family to visit. This goes above and beyond what other ... read more

My mom was sent for her rehab. I was well aware my mom wasn't going to recovery. During her last days they treated her like it was her first. I couldn't see her last days cause of the pandemic, but they called almost daily to give me updates. The staff and sisters are absolutely wonderful.

This place is definitely not "terrible." My father is there now, getting some intense physical and occupational therapy. Ozanam deserves at least 2 stars, maybe 2-1/2. In my short, recent experience checking out rehab centers for my dad, I've found that even the "best" of these places seem to be crappy in one way or another. Our first choice, Northwell Stern, was not available to my dad since he was coming from a hospital out of the Northwell network, and it's well known and generally accepted that they give first priority ... read more

My grandmother did inpatient rehab at Ozanam Hall after she was hospization for what was determined to be her dementia increasing. When she arrived at Ozanam Hall, she could not even stand or walk with a walker(something she was able to do prior to the hospitalization). After 2 months at Ozanam Hall(1 1/2 hours of PT & OT 6 days a week), she was discharged back to her assisted living with a wheelchair. The social worker was in contact with my aunt almost immediately after my grandmother arrived to get a better picture of her... read more

Very disappointed in this place. My mom was sent there for a for PT and OT. Short staff and staff are rude. My mom is a retired nurse and she was forcibly given a medication that she stated would give her bleeding. Made a grievance report and nothing was reported back to us. The staff member is still there. Also my mom is still there and we are still trying to transfer her out.

My mom was at this facility on 2 occasions for rehab after having pneumonia and a fall. Nurses were very caring and watching 24 hours. Rehab floors are 2 and 10. Did therapy twice a day. Rooms are clean, food is good. Outdoor garden seating area is very nice. Pet friendly. She was on oxygen that they provided with a machine at night and a tank when mobile. Staff was always reachable and knowledgeable. Visiting hours at all times. Initially i had a hard time picking a rehab because of reviews I had read for Queens/Long Island... read more

Ozanum provided my Mother with the utmost love, compassion and dignity in the final stages of her life. I am forever indebited to the beloved Sisters and compassionate staff who helped my Mother to make her journey back to God's loving arms. The day we arrived Sister greeted us with words I will never forget '"welcome to your new home." One day when I visited my Mom during her final days I found her rosary in her bed. I knew you prayed with her because she didn't have the strength to get them from her night table. I will alw... read more

My mom was at a tenement nursing facility on 5th St, in NYC called Cabrini Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. The first day there we said no way, then the administrator a geriatric doctor named Jeffrey Nichols came to check on mom. She weighed 90 lbs. and would just yell at any who came near her. He told us not to worry they have 5 doctors one for each day of the week and he was there every evening after rounds at Beth Israel and all day Friday. I looked up doctor Nichols and found him on the BEST DOCTORS for 5 years. He Imm... read more

We came in at 12:20 signed in for a tour. We were told to sit in the waiting room and that someone would be with us shortly. As we waited two other groups came into the waiting room. A representative of the facility walked in and asked the group who came 20 mins after us if they were there for the tour which they told her they werent. She completely ignored us then went to speak to the third group in the room. My mom said "excuse me", she was ignored. The group that came in third where taken upstairs. My sister went to the a... read more
