Our personal experience was terrible!! It was our son's first car and all he had was troubles. It stalled and would start shaking and dying while standing on red lights or similar. Couple times it died in the middle of a busy roundabout and all I could see that one day might end up tragically becasue the car kept dying whenever he would take his foot of the gas. We visited Toyota service numerous times but they kept saying it was nothing. All they did was raising the motor turns so it doesn't keep turning off but still witho... read more
Purchased a new Yaris 2015 Hatch Ascent. Clocked in at 19,000 kms. My car failed as it was struggling to move when changing gears. Roadside assistance detected the car was running on 3 cylinders and should be on 4. The car has to be towed back to Toyota for further investigation. So disappointed and annoyed.
Bought 2015Yaris brand new from stewArt Toyota...things needs to be considered... its engine size is small hence low power and torque, seats are the most uncomfortable.. I had a hip problem after driving half an hour( that’s the only reason I have sell it within 1 month), no foot rest, suspension is horrible , worst in humps..exterior material is a very thin tin (feels very cheap and light), trunk size is ok...please consider these things before getting one.. consider i30 or vw polo or golf or Mazda 3 in your shopping list..... read more
one serious problem, stalls at traffic lights, intersections. had it for 5+ months, accelerator has to be engaged strongly to make sure that it doesn't stall so if taking off at a T intersection have to turn very wide can be dangerous in some circumstances has stalled half way across an intersection they tell me it cant be adjusted my opinion vehicle needs to be recalled.
I’ve been driving my new Toyota Yaris Hatch for over 2 months now and am happy with it. I traded it for my 20+ year old Toyota Seca which had never given me any trouble, but it was time to renew. I had slight trouble to get the head rest thingy right with the Yaris so it wasn’t pushing my head forward, and managed to get it comfortable. There are a couple of features that I liked better with my Seca, one being that although the Yaris headlights have an automatic setting, I chose the manual option as I drive during the day wi... read more
The positive: well equipped, drives happily at 100km/h, comfortable. The negative: it's manual transmission ruins the drive the second you need to use it. The accelerator has no resistance, you are either idling or doing 3000rpm when trying to move off from stationary. The gear lever has no feel and is quite an effort to push over into the 1-2 plane (third feels like first when you are stationary). The worst though is the hideous clutch which has little feel or resistance and engages only at the end of the clutch travel. It ... read more
YRS 3 door Auto. Neat to park. Terrible to drive. Very disapointed with around town fuel effiency- reason why we bought it. Took back to Toyota for there help (they were great) but they couldnt get it down around town either 6.1 on open rd and 7.8 around town- from memory did this in 2008 when we bought. Very hard to keep to level speed. (wonder if this is only a complaint with the autos???) accelarator has no resistance just flops so you are constantly watching (along with all in car thanks to central dash) the speedo. I have a late 2013,Toyota Yaris Hatchback YRX, and I fully agree with “No car is perfect but this model come close”, 24th Aug, 2014. The GPS, navigation, SD card system is not worth the money. The GPS has a problem were the school crossing cannot not be disabled, yet there is a menu to allow you to disable them. You get up to 8 crossing in one area and some where there is not a school crossing at all. Toyota knows of the problem but cannot fix it. I am sure if Toyota kept telling the manufacture (of the GPS) about the proble... read more
My company's Yaris is a 2006 with around 178,000 on the clock. Apparently it has suffered a MAF (Mass Air Flow) malfunction. I am told by Maddils Toyota of Noosaville Quensland that the replacement cost of the MAF unit will be around $450.00 and that it will take about 1.5 hours (labour time) to replace it. The reference is : Penny's Flowers, Cooroy Qld Job Number : TNCUN93842 Well I guess that's OK considering that the vehicle is used for business. However when Maddills told me that it will take 3 weeks to source the def... read more
