I love this car. Super cheap to run and easy to drive and park. The car is not a family car as it is three door, so don't complain about it not being suitable for kids (if you want to cart kids around or passengers in the backseat all the time, get the 5 door). Services are on the pricey side but that is the norm these days for new cars. The inside of the doors need to be vinyl as the material is hard to keep clean and gets wet. All in all, It does the job, getting me from point A to point B safely.Perfect for a family or in my case, for me alone. I like the size, it's perfect, not too small and not too big. It's very smooth and accelerates fast.It looks good and even better, it drives good! It doesn't have a beeper so you cannot hear if you are backing into something.
I love the space age shape of this car, which is probably the main reason I bought it. It is very spacious inside despite being small and easy to park. The floor at the back does not have a bump in it, so you can fit more stuff in it and it is comfortable for the feet of the person in the middle at the back. The radio and CD player is positioned high up so you're not in danger of crashing while fiddling with it. The car holds the road well when driving on narrow winding roads. I thought this was my dream car, good on fuel, modern, small and perfect for commuting. That all changed when my rear brakes failed, completely seized and corroded after 3 and a half years. I am lucky this didnt happen while I was on the freeway. The dealership told me it could of happened because it rained, don't purchase this car if you want to drive it in the rain. Purchased a 2010 Toyota Yaris from Scarborough Toyota in Jun22. Sales and service was excellent however the paint of the vehicle was so bad after 1 year. Spoke to them and they denied having painted the car before sale. I have purchased many used cars in my lifetime and never have I seen paint damage as bad as this one within 1 year of use. I have attached pictures of the car in 2022 and the pics with paint damage in 2023. What are your thoughts?
Red Yaris 9 years old, 63,000kms. Looks terrible, clear coat peeled in patches, requires $5000 paint fix. Regular carpark survey shows it's very common problem. Looks terrible makes car worthless.
Car used for commuting to work. Mainly parked under cover. Car used approx 5 days per week Serviced as per schedule No mechanical issues Issue with paint peeling at approx 6 years old. Peeling all along bottom of back window and spots of peeling paint on roof and bonnet. It is the clear coat that is peeling. Can see this has occurred with many yaris cars by looking at other complaints online.
Brand new car in 2019, it’s a manual but I’ve driven manual cars all my life and I’m in my late 30’s. I can honestly say this is the worst car I have ever driven (and I hire a different car each year when I go to the UK, so I’ve driven lots of cars in my time). We bought this car a few years ago and has served us well. The only disappointment is the poor driving position and handling. The high drivers seat feels quite unnatural
