This was the most unprofessional business I have ever worked with. They changed my installation two times without telling me, including one day when they simply did not show up. Tom, the customer service manager, gave me every excuse when really they just didn't do their job. He promised they would be there because we had several showings of our house the following day. I reluctantly purchased an engineered hardwood floor from NFD after a very odd experience with the salesman. He wanted to follow me to an ATM and wouldn't leave my house after being told that I needed time to think before moving forward. The following day I called to cancel my order; it took three days for a manager to call me back. Instead of cancelling, I allowed myself to be sidelined by a manager who offered a further discount. I placed the order on May 3rd and was told that the floors were in stock in NY. I scheduled my install for Monday, June 3rd. On the Friday before the installation, I received a call from them confirming the install and the details on how to prepare. The next day, at 4:15pm, I received another call from them but, I missed it because I was busy moving my entire first floor to the basement. The voicemail said “Hello. This company is the absolute LAST company you should use for your flooring needs. They are unethical at best! They used the proverbial bait and switch on me. They showed me one carpet that I selected and I then ordered it. When their installers came, they did not bring the carpet that I purchased. Instead, they brought a much lower quality, (cheaper) one. National floors direct is the absolute worst company to go through for a rug installation. They are absolutely incompetent with the entire installation of rug. Starting with before job is even complete they take full payment and tell you to take any issues up with customer service and start a service ticket. Many major errors from the sub contractors starting from the padding which had many spaces which created dips in the rug. Did not finish project when promised. Have extremely rude customer service. Installers came hours after “window period” - was told that was only an estimate. Tried to get our salesperson for two weeks but he never returned my wife’s calls. Only answered when I called irate. This business should be avoided at all costs.
I would never do business with them again and will tell anyone and everyone I know to not use them. From other reviews I have NOW read, I am not alone in my experience. Their customer service team including management level employees are rude, unprofessional, disrespectful, not helpful and harass you. I have never had a worse customer service experience in my life and I am in my mid 50’s. After setting the initial appointment they canceled 3 times. Finally when they installed it they cut all the wood and vinyl flooring in our house leaving sawdust flying everywhere. Cabinets that were closed got sawdust in them. All dishes and glasses in our kitchen cabinets which were closed at the time had to be washed. The metal floor plates that go between the flooring and our existing rugs were improperly installed. The nails were put in crooked and it trips us. Absolutely horrible customer service at the Astoria Queens office. Company does not care if you have any problems AFTER the floors are laid and the Money is given to them. Will never call them again. Had a small problem that only required them to come out and see where they did not lay the floor under a cabinet. They were nasty and refused to come saying it was "no big deal" just calk or grout the area showing. REALLY? Run from them, not worth it!!! Horrible, nasty customer service!!!!!
