I wish I had read these reviews before working with American Carpet South. I purchased vinyl flooring through ********** to replace my carpet in a small 600 sq ft two-room condo. ********** subbed the job to American Carpet South. ACS came and removed the carpet and said my concrete floor was too uneven and they just took off and said, "tough luck" leaving me with a concrete floor and boxes of unused vinyl flooring and no idea what to do next.The contract stated that there could be an extra charge for leveling a floor. As mentioned during our phone conversation, as per our Service Prover contract with the *********** we are not liable to move forward with an installation due to unforeseen circumstances with an non flat subfloor & why ACS would advise the customer that we would return to complete an installation when subfloor issues have been resolved by a private contractor. *** read through some of these reviews to see if anyone had the same issues as me and it seems to be right on point with whats wrong with this company. Carpet was misfit on some stairs and showing padding underneath, you can see where they tacked as its rippled, some of the carpet has not been tacked or stretched properly leaving it bulged up along the walls, also some not tucked properly leaving edges exposed. They are the *****. BEWARE. they are liars and ****. needed new flooring installed and the workers left TWICE without any explanation. Supervisor says that our product was damaged (it's not!) . Had to hire another contractor to do the job they couldn't. "

Our experience mirrors other complaints below. Extremely poor quality work backed up by extremely poor customer service. We are now on approximately our 6th visit to the home, and the job still isn't done correctly. They have twice scheduled visits and not shown up. They have lied over the phone as to why they didn't show up (they got the sequence wrong and then backed themselves into a corner in which they would have had to "predict" that the van would break down next morning). Absolutely horrible company to work with! Never use! I am not one to write reviews for bad service because i understand people make mistakes but this company is the absolute worst. I had both vinyl and carpet installed, they were suppose to come same day... They didn't … I let that go... As they were installing the vinyl flooring they ran out of material... Blows my mind... The very next day they were suppose to be there first thing to install carpet... they didn't show up until 6pm to which they never installed the saddles ... read more

Worst customer service I ever had to deal with. I had to have 3 different installation days. The first one was October 1st which they call me and gave me as when it could be done. Took off day from work did all of the processes they wanted us to do take bed apart and remove all personal belongings in way so vinyl floor could be put in both bedrooms. Okay that was agreed to now everything in my big bathroom and all over the house. Oct. 1 comes no phone call no installer so I have to call ACS. Need to get phone number of local... read more
