Listings

New Capabilities

Consolidated Core + Other Publish Reports

  • What changed: Added the option to choose Core, Other, or All (Core + Other) listings when downloading, emailing, or scheduling a Listings publish summary report.
  • Why it matters: Removes the need to pull two separate reports when you just want one combined view — especially helpful for partners doing monthly audits or client reporting.
  • How to check it out: When downloading, emailing, or scheduling a Listings report, choose Core, Other, or All.

Applicable to both Direct and Partners

Local Rank Tracking for Service Area Businesses

  • What changed: Extended keyword rank tracking to service area businesses (SABs) with hidden addresses, using their internal location as the center point for a defined grid/radius.
  • Why it matters: Previously, only businesses with a public address could track rankings — this opens that same visibility to plumbers, cleaners, consultants, and other SABs.
  • How to check it out: In Keyword Rank Tracking, SAB locations can now add keywords and track rankings the same way public-address locations do.

Feature Enhancements

Apple Brand Approval Status

  • What changed: Added a status indicator on the Apple Brand configuration screen showing where a brand submission stands, as Apple can take up to 5 business days to approve changes.
  • Why it matters: Removes the guesswork — you'll know whether a brand change is still pending Apple's review or has gone live.
  • How to check it out: On the Apple Brand configuration screen, check the new status indicator after submitting a brand change.

Applicable to both Direct and Partners

Yelp Integration Page Updates

  • What changed: Updated the Yelp integration page to show your Birdeye location first, added a filter for subscription type (Paid/MEC), and included subscription type as a column in the Excel export.
  • Why it matters: Makes it easier to see and report on which Yelp listings are paid versus MEC at a glance.
  • How to check it out: Open the Yelp integration page to see the updated layout, filter, and export option.

Applicable to both Direct and Partners

"Sync to Google" Setting Relocated

  • What changed: Moved the "Sync to Google" flag from the Google-specific section to the main location screen, alongside where category data is managed.
  • Why it matters: Makes it clearer that this setting controls your category sync, since that's where the related data actually lives.
  • How to check it out: Go to Settings> Business> in the business profile page, under Business information, find the "Sync to Google" flag next to category.

Applicable to both Direct and Partners

Simplified Listing Status Model

  • What changed: Redesigned listing statuses for accounts on the Birdeye Listings package: the previous Synced/Submitted/Not Synced/Not Connected/Opted Out model is now Verified/Synced/Needs Attention/Opted Out, with Needs Attention combining listings that previously showed as Not Synced or Not Connected. The Synced summary tile now also shows the percentage of listings that are Verified. These changes apply across the dashboard, exports, and reports.
  • Why it matters: Gives a clearer, more accurate picture of your real listing coverage, instead of listings looking perpetually incomplete due to overly strict status tracking.
  • How to check it out: Check your Listings publish summary — you'll see the new Verified, Synced, Needs Attention, and Opted Out tiles.

Applicable to both Direct and Partners

Clickable URLs in Listings XLS Export

  • What changed: Updated exported Listings XLS reports so that site and listing URLs appear as active, clickable hyperlinks instead of plain text.
  • Why it matters: Saves time when auditing exported spreadsheets — no more copying and pasting long URLs to check a listing.
  • How to check it out: Export a Listings report to XLS — URLs in the file will now be clickable.

Platform

New Capabilities

Role-Based Access Control for AI Agents

  • What changed: Introduced granular permissions for AI agents with No Access, View, and Full Access levels per agent type across both the dashboard and API.
  • Why it matters: Gives administrators precise control over who can access and configure AI agents.
  • How to check it out: Go to Settings → Account → Roles and configure access for each AI agent type.

  • Why it matters: Admins can control who can view, add, edit, or publish Content hub assets.
  • How to check it out: Go to Settings → Account → Roles → and configure Content hub access.

Major Experience Improvements

Introducing the New Birdeye Experience

  • What changed: Birdeye has introduced a new, more intuitive interface — a cleaner layout, relevant KPIs, and an outcome-focused overview that helps you get to the insights and actions that matter faster.
  • Why it matters: Less time spent navigating, more time spent on actions that drive outcomes.
  • How to check it out: Starting October 1, the new Birdeye experience becomes the default for all users. A switch back to the classic experience will remain available for a limited time to help with the transition.

Applicable to both Direct and Partners

A Refresh to Your Birdeye Subscription Plan Names

  • What changed: We’ve updated the names of certain subscription plans in our billing system to make our product catalog clearer and more consistent. Nothing about your subscription is changing. Your pricing, features, service entitlements, and billing schedule remain exactly the same.
  • Why it matters: Simplified and consistent naming of products across the platform and invoices.
  • How to check it out: You’ll see the updated names on your invoice and in billing communications.

Applicable to Partner clients only

Feature Enhancements

MCP Tool Access Settings in Dashboard

  • What changed: Added a dashboard-based settings experience for configuring which read and write MCP (Model Context Protocol) tools are enabled for integrations.
  • Why it matters: Admins can manage AI tool access directly from the dashboard, improving security and reducing engineering dependency.
  • How to check it out: Go to Settings and open the new MCP Tool Access configuration section.

Location Custom Fields & Advanced Filters

NOTE: Releasing as a closed beta in October

  • What changed: Expanded location custom fields across Birdeye. Admins can now add and search fields, choose which fields appear as filters, edit dropdown options, and manage values through individual location updates, bulk uploads, or the public API. Custom fields are also supported in custom reports, Competitors review analysis, and other supported product views and reports.

Filtering enhancements include:

  • Customizable Quick Filters that users can search and reorder based on their preferences.
  • Independent filtering across location attributes without automatically selecting related hierarchy values.
  • Advanced Filters with AND/OR logic and grouped conditions.
  • Saved views for frequently used filter combinations.
  • Global and widget-level custom field filters in supported reports.
  • For new accounts, location custom fields replace the legacy Manage Hierarchy setup. Existing accounts will retain their current hierarchy configuration unless a migration is requested and coordinated with their Birdeye team.
  • Why it matters: Businesses can organize locations using attributes that reflect how they operate—such as region, brand, service, clinic type, or manager—without forcing them into a rigid parent-child hierarchy. This makes it easier to find the right locations, build precise filter combinations, and analyze performance consistently across Birdeye.
  • How to check it out: Go to Settings → Business → Manage Custom Fields to add or edit a location custom field and choose Use as filter when needed. Add field values from an individual location, through a bulk location upload, or via the public API. Then use Quick Filters or Advanced Filters in supported product pages and reports.

AI Search

New Capabilities

Multi-Brand Support

  • What changed: AI Search now supports multi-brand reporting, including an AI Score by Brand Over Time report for visibility, citations, and sentiment.
  • Why it matters: Businesses managing multiple brands can compare AI visibility and reputation trends in a single report instead of switching between brands.
  • How to check it out: Go to AI Search Reporting and choose brands to view the combined trend report.

Applicable to both Direct and Partners

Feature Enhancements

Default Landing Tab for AI Search Reports

  • What changed: Added a setting that lets you choose which AI engine tab (e.g., "All" or a specific engine like ChatGPT) loads by default across your AI Search reports.
  • Why it matters: Saves time for teams who consistently check the same AI engine view, instead of re-selecting it every time.
  • How to check it out: In AI Search settings, set your preferred default landing tab for reports.

Applicable to both Direct and Partners

Content Hub

New Capabilities

Full Control Over WordPress Blog Publishing

  • What changed: Added a new Publish Settings experience for WordPress blogs — choose which connected WordPress account and URL path to publish to, preview the exact URL, publish live or save as a draft for review, and set title/summary/slug/image/keywords directly from Birdeye instead of relying on WordPress's own defaults. Birdeye also flags it if someone edits the blog directly in WordPress afterward, and catches broken paths before publishing.
  • Why it matters: Gives you full control over where and how your blog content goes live, avoids accidental overwrites between Birdeye and WordPress, and prevents posts from landing at the wrong URL.
  • How to check it out: When publishing a blog to WordPress, open the new Publish Settings drawer to choose your account, path, and metadata.

Marketing Automation

New Capabilities

Test Send for Campaigns, Automations & Workflows

  • What changed: Added a "Send Test Email" option across Campaigns, Automations, and Workflow email steps, letting you send a fully rendered test to a chosen contact before going live. Quick send also now supports custom HTML templates, not just the built-in ones.
  • Why it matters: Lets you catch rendering or content issues before a real send goes out, and gives more flexibility when using quick send.
  • How to check it out: Look for "Send Test Email" within a Campaign, Automation, or Workflow's email step, and check quick send for the new custom HTML template option.

Applicable to Direct clients only

New Capabilities

Google Event Publishing

  • What changed: Added support for publishing business events directly to Google.
  • Why it matters: Businesses can publish promotions and events to Google Search and Maps without additional manual posting.
  • How to check it out: In the Social tab, look for Google events in the Google post settings section while creating a social post.

Applicable to both Direct and Partners

Batch Approval for Social Posts

  • What changed: Added the ability to choose multiple social posts created within a chosen time window and submit them for approval together, in one action.
  • Why it matters: Saves time for teams managing high social post volume — no more approving each post individually through separate emails.
  • How to check it out: When reviewing pending social posts, choose multiple posts and use the new batch approval action.

Applicable to both Direct and Partners

Surveys

New Capabilities

Upload Survey Responses from the Dashboard

  • What changed: Added the ability to upload survey responses directly from the dashboard, instead of requiring API access.
  • Why it matters: Makes it much easier to bulk-add survey responses without needing a customer developer.
  • How to check it out: In the Surveys section, look for the new upload option to add responses directly.

Applicable to both Direct and Partners

Reviews

New Capabilities

Bulk Upload/Download of Response Templates

  • What changed: Added the ability to bulk upload and download response templates, instead of creating and editing them one at a time.
  • Why it matters: Saves significant time when setting up or updating a large set of response templates, especially when using your own custom wording.
  • How to check it out: In response template settings, look for the new bulk upload/download option.

Applicable to both Direct and Partners

Reports

Feature Enhancements

Reporting Agent: More Conversational with Follow-Up Questions

  • What changed: The Reporting Agent now supports multi-turn conversations and asks clarifying follow-up questions before generating results.
  • Why it matters: Users can refine reporting requests naturally without restarting the conversation or rewriting prompts.
  • How to check it out: Start a conversation with the Reporting Agent and ask a reporting question — it will ask follow-up questions when needed.
