For a complex that claims to be for college students 12b is nothing but added stress. I lived at 12b for over 3 years and the management has changed 3 times, if that doesn’t warn you I don’t know what will. Initially when I lived with my first 3 roommates we received a noise complaint at 8:00pm and were never given a warning that made all of us pay $100+. RecommendedMy son subleased an apartment from another tenant who agreed to pay two months rent upfront. 12B Lofts insisted that the lease be signed prior to applying the funds to his account. Now they’re saying that the agreement was between us, and we need to retrieve the funds from the original leaser. Then, they suggested moving him from a 3BR to a 2BR because they deemed that the apartment was not suitable for a $50/mo. up-charge. If you want to get screwed over this is the place to rent from so beware!
My experience at 12B lofts (avenue m) was one I will never forget. Beyond the multiple altercations with others around, the leasing office failed their end of the deal (stated on the lease) and the promises for secure parking, key fob access, gates , etc were not met until over 5-6 months into living there. The entire reason I wanted to live there was for the safety aspect as I am a young woman living alone.
