My family and I had a very poor experience with ACC Medlink. We hired the company to transport my mom from an upstate NY rehab facility to my home in Charlotte, NC for a fee of $4,400. The crew planned to leave for the 12 hour trip at 8pm and drive throughout the night. We paid in full with a credit card when the transport was booked. We paid $3,400 to transport my husband from Knoxville, TN to mid Illinois after a hospital stay for a broken leg. The medical staff person seemed uncaring and not interested in instructions on pickup. I later learned that my husband was only given some applesauce and a milkshake during the 500 mile trip because he didn't want mashed potatoes or soup and the medical person told him that he didn't want to take any chances with him eating solid food. We would never recommend this company. The nurse they sent on the plane had no equipment to monitor our daughter. She was a cardiac patient going from one hospital to another. She was supposed to be hooked up to monitors and have her vitals checked. Not only did none of this occur but the nurse was passed out himself! He would lean over and sleep, startle himself awake, then repeat. He ate bags of candy and Doritos and would fall asleep with his head in the bag, wake up to lick his fingers, then go back to sleep.
