Exceptional in every way! In fact Aegis was recommended by the LT Care Ombudsman after my parents' horrific and unsafe experience at a popular continuing care community in Irvine (RP). We transferred both mom and dad over 3 years ago. He was already on hospice and she was just ready for assisted living. Thus, they moved into 2 separate rooms as we knew he would predecease her soon. My mother in law recently moved to Aegis and is very happy there. Was not an easy decision to make, since she is still able bodied and of sound mind. People tend to think that assisted living is for people who are ill. She is 96 and the upkeep on her home was just getting to be too difficult. Aegis provided relief from that but more importantly has given her fun activities and new friends. The staff there is wonderful, friendly and can help if health issues do arise. Aegis of Dana Point is a loving, spotlessly clean, bright, beautiful place to live. When my elderly cousin's only child passed away, I became her advocate. She did not want to leave her house. What a wonderful place! My grandfather moved into Aegis Memory Care several weeks ago. All of the management and staff are so kind and compassionate, and they have been incredibly attentive as my grandfather has gotten used to his new home. The facility and grounds are beautiful, and everything is kept exceptionally clean. They have a deep understanding of dementia and how to individualize care so that each resident's needs are met. My mother moved in a few months ago. I had researched extensively two years ago and selected this location. My mom wasn't ready at that time but now that she is, I can attest that my research determinations were right on. The staff could not have been more welcoming. No matter what time of day I pop in, my mom is happy with her new "home". My parent has been living at this facility for 2+ years. I looked at MANY similar type full service assisted living - memory care homes in the area before choosing this one. I like that it is a family owned company, little to no staff turnover (top ranked on Glass Door for health care employers), and is a month-to-month commitment and not a buy-in facility. My elderly loved one has lived in the facility for 5+ years. She has always enjoyed the employees the food and most of the activities she is able to attend. However, in the past couple years things have been going down hill. As she ages and requires more attention, which she pays a high price to receive, she is not getting it.
