Aliyah Nursing Home – Highwood, IL I recently visited Aliyah in Highwood, IL to pick up the personal belongings of a deceased family member. This was already an emotionally difficult experience, and unfortunately it was made significantly worse by the behavior of the front desk staff. The man at the front desk, Jesus Estela, was extremely unprofessional and dismissive. My name is Nelson Tate, a close friend of Scott Blaney - Rm. 321. I must complement CNA - Fina, RN - Pattie, RN - Fade and other members of the team for the care you are giving to Scott. Aliya is a tremendous improvement over his last skilled nursing facility. Thank you for giving him a good shave, which positively affects his attitude (pictures before & after). Takes 20-25 minutes when requesting help or medicine. Takes 2 1/2 hours to get pain meds. 2 hours to get help to get off the toilet. Air bed deflated 3 times! and other patients come to check why screaming for help doesn’t bring any help. Lay in pee for more than an hour with no help. All to name just a few issues
I have spent a month at Aliya in Highwood recovering from a pelvic fracture. When I arrived at the residential/rehab facility ,I was totally immobile - the caring staff brought me back by restoring my ability to walk with a walker and return home with confidence of my recovery. My wife had a wonderful experience at Aliya of Highwood. Melo, the admin director, is exceptionally helpful from admission until discharge. I called the facility, not knowing if the room was available. Mello informed me he had already started the admission process requested by the hospital. He arranged the same room where she had stayed a couple of years ago, and quickly felt at ease to start receiving rehab.
