We have had Amerigas for about 10 years. Initially there was no charge for tank rental but 7 years ago they started charging $180.00/year tank rental in addition to their outrageuos non-competitive rates for gas. We tired of paying $180.00 per year for tank rental. We called (couldn't do it online) to cancel the service and have the tank picked up. We were informed we would not receive any credit for the gas still in the tank AND they were charging us $400 to pick up the tank. I will never buy from Amerigas again.Amerigas is... read more

When we bought our home in mebane,** in 1996 our propane provider was ***** fuels. They were honest, hard-working, trustworthy and honorable people and company. Unfortunately, they were bought out by Americas a few years back. They have done a 180 to put it mildly. They will charge you for 150 gallons and deliver probably 80 or 90. A week later when you check the tank and see whats going on and call and complain. They will send someone out and say you have a leak and they will charge you 175 to 275 to fix the nonexistent lea... read more

Had the company for years kept them out of loyalty to the local business. But as I have found out loyalty only goes one way. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY MATTER WHAT. I is shameful

I am writing to lodge a formal complaint regarding an incident at my rental property. When my former tenant moved out, an AmeriGas employee entered my property without my permission and locked my propane tank. The propane in that tank was fully paid for and belongs to me as the property owner. At no point did I authorize AmeriGas to enter my property or to place a lock on my ******* addition, AmeriGas has attempted to charge my former tenant an unauthorized $240 fee for locking the tank. Amerigas prices were almost twice as high as other providers. The communication on delivery was poor. They also have a $299.00 charge to pick up the old tank after you stop their service. This service was here when we moved into this house. If I had known i would have changed immediately. Very disappointed.

The worst customer service I have ever experienced. Waited on hold for 57 min. then spoke with a young man about removing my tank, he said I have to speak to service and would transfer me. Waited again on hold for over an hour, this is total of over 2 hours then the line disconnected me. Called back and final got a hold of a live person by calling there fill up line. Of course they have people available to talk to someone when it means money for them. There own employees say it is normal to wait over an hour and not get any ... read more

I paid the annual tank rental fee, and just a few days later, the company came and removed the tank without explanation. I called to find out why but couldnt get an answer. I then asked them to close my account and refund my deposit, which they agreed to do.They never issued the refund, and now, a year later, they are billing me again. It is nearly impossible to reach anyone at this company. This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced.

**************** is a nightmare to deal with. They transfer the call and drop the call numerous times and leave you on hold for an hour to 2 hours plus each time. When I asked to speak to a manager I was on hold another 1/2 hour and was given excuses for the long hold times and dropped calls. Stating that they just brought customer service back to the states.
