AmeriGas is a terrible company. They make it difficult to start new service and to have propane tanks filled. They refuse to give time windows in which they expect to be at your residence, resulting in leaving and attempting to charge reconnection fee. When confronted with this Issue, we have discontinued service and advised them to retrieve their tanks from our property. Numerous calls have been made in their tanks continue to remain on our property. I would not recommend anyone utilize this company for any reason.

I attempted to purchase additional propane in January 2025. The customer service rep tried to charge me $5.00 gallon. I was currently paying $3.00 at my residence. I have no problem paying an additional amount because of volume and tank rental. I ended up running the tank empty and getting another provider that charged me $3.04. I told AmeriGas to pick up their tank after being a customer for 24 years. AmeriGas is now sending me a bill for $450.00 for picking up their tank after 24 years . If there was a way to rate you zero stars, I would do it. You stole my tank with no warning in early May, 2023 even though I hadn't failed to pay a bill in 30+ years and I had almost two weeks of very cold mornings. I was 73 years old at the time. Real nice way to treat a senior citizen. I will never recommend that anyone do business with you. You all suck!

They illegally locked me out of my propane tank. Literally for no reason. I don’t owe them money. The tank has 40% left in it. There is no leak and yet they’ve locked me out. I’ve been locked out of my own propane tank since Wednesday and it is now Sunday And every time I call they say they will send somebody out in 24 hours and nobody ever appears. Very bad experience with Amerigas. They charge you for keeping an old tank on your property even if you do not need the service. The cost to get it removed is pretty high so you are stuck with a large bill to remove service. Even after I sold the property, they would not cancel the account unless someone new takes over and the customer service was pretty rude when I tried to reason with them. If you are planning on getting a new account with them please do not. You are stuck with heavy fees when you try to cancel.
