This is an institution that should NOT be allowed to exist. Its a hazard to the surrounding community and creates new drug use patterns once the people attending the clinic begin to pair up and help each other beat the tests that are given while still using. That's not to mention the fact that Methadone itself is a terribly toxic and dangerous thing to ingest, and you become chained to this place just like a heroin addict to their dealer. Going here is just switching from your illegal drug dealer to a legal drug dealer, they aren't there to help you only make us much money off you as possible. The doctor doesn't care whether he is lowering your medication the proper way or not.
So the only thing bad I will say is they can’t dose you coming in off the street for the first time I transfered from Genesis Fredrick Maryland, because FMTC accepted my insurance so I wouldn’t have to pay out of pocket anymore (could be pricey) and they actually dose you first day of treatment so atleast you don’t have to be sick, and leave the clinic feeling hopeful ,but once the ball gets rolling FMTC is a ok place to be. If there were other Methadone Clinic with better ratings I wouldn't even support my loved one to go here but apparently they are all just as bad from the ratings. We transferred from the clinic in SE, DC and as rough as the neighborhood was on that end- their staff, counselors and doctors really cared and took the time to meet with you frequently if not daily. So don't judge a book by it's cover, unfortunately my insurance no longer covered it so we had to move to a clinic that did. It took almost a full month to get my lo... read more
This place saved my life. Dr A was my doctor in CATS and told me about it. Did the phone screen and was dosed the next day. He set it up so the day after I got out of detox I would go straight to the clinic. Joyce has been amazing. Helping me get everything together and my husband in. My counselor is Dave and despite other reviews hes been awsome. I think if your doing what your supposed to do then you should not have any issues. Extremely grateful for this place.
