April is awesome and I really like her. Let me clarify, I had my first appointment with April and after having really bad experiences and losing my last psychiatrist due to non competitive clauses April was a breath of fresh air. She kept it real with me and I appreciate that. I plan to continue working with her

Sadistic, passive aggressive, & dehumanizing. We felt she was very judgmental about long-standing treatment regimens of over 10 years, acting as though FDA regulated medications were illicit drugs. She used language like “benzos” & “downers.” She also made inappropriate comments about non-psychiatric medications that had been prescribed for over a decade, challenging us as to why those medications were needed & claiming that the medication regimen of several years could cause problems, alluding to an addiction disorder. I’ve been seeing Dr. April Guilliams for about 3 years now, and my experience has been nothing but positive. She always takes the time to really listen and makes me feel heard and understood. Her empathy and thoughtful approach have made a huge difference for me. I also appreciate how well she communicates and explains things in a way that’s easy to understand. Wasted my time and immediately referred me out because she felt she couldn’t manage my set of complex conditions, specifically eating disorders which is specifically noted on her provider profile. It was clear she evaluated me as a potential liability instead of a patient in need of care. Referred to my current set of medications as “uppers” and “downers” like street drugs despite their clinical value to me. A very negative experience. April made me feel very uncomfortable during both of our visits. I saw her to have my prescription renewed for the gold standard drug for ADHD I had been on for months and tolerating. There was zero eye contact, just her staring offscreen while she read questions off a checklist, oozing judgment, sighing and shaking her head.
