Update: This is the day after I left this review - The manager of the Leander branch read the review and called me. She began by lying and saying she offered the money but in different denominations. Complete lie. I explained that this wasn't true and I had two recorded phone calls made while still in the parking lot with them telling me a second and third time that they did not have funds. Just got a prepaid debit card. Got it activated. They put a temporary pin number. Maybe I tried to many times to follow the directions? To set up a pin. I think it was not a good setup. Like at another bank it was all done at that bank. Activated and pin setup. I went on the website. Left what happened. In January 3,2026 it was a long wait to get the paperwork done. Austin Telco is a complete failure of a bank. Slow, outdated, and painfully incompetent, they turn basic banking into an exhausting ordeal. Customer service is unhelpful at best and dismissive at worst, and it’s obvious they don’t value members’ time. Switching to UHCU exposed just how embarrassing Austin Telco really is—the other banks are efficient, modern, and actually cares about its customers. There is absolutely no reason to stay with Austin Telco when better options exist. Save yourself the frustration and switch.
I went in to reactivate an account and Juliet immediately greeted me and was polite and cheerful. She shredded my old debit card while I watched to insure my information was not compromised. She provided all the information I needed to reconnect and login to my account.
