Absolutely horrible. Incompetent. NOT knowledgeable nor helpful. I have been to a branch half a dozen times to try and add a signer to our business account. I deal with a different person "in charge" each time and they demand something extra that doesn't exist or shouldn't exist. The current request is the signatures of 40 people who approved the change. Ridiculous and inaccurate I am sure but they are sticking to their script on this one. RUN the other way. Any other bank has to be better.

DO NOT use this bank! Worst customer service experience(s) ever, and will not allow me to transfer my money from their bank to another institution!? Customer service team members straight up lied to me saying it would be possible, and it was not until the third time I called that someone told me I had to come into a branch to withdraw my money. Be smart, go to a big bank and avoid the stress and headache that Austin Telco will inevitable give you.
Business response:
In the time that has passed, we have updated our systems and expanded digital tools and resources. We understand we previously fell short but would like to earn the opportunity back in the future, should the need arise.
I hate this bank. I've never banked anywhere that makes it so difficult to spend your own money. I'm trying to pay for a vacation and it's out of the country. The payment was declined and if I don't pay in 24 hours, they will cancel my reservation. I called the bank and they supposedly removed the restrictions. She told me to give it 10 minutes. I gave it 20, then called the resort back and my card still declined. I called the bank back, but they are closed for the day. I came home and got online and removed the rest... read more

What kind of bank closes lobby at 3:30 on a Friday, Monday through Wednesday I see no problem, but FRIDAY!!! Dumbest shit ever, they can count on me being there Saturday morning and closing my account
Business response:
We apologize for any inconvenience that you encountered and regret that we lost your membership. Thank you for your feedback.
I did a mobile deposit for a check. The check was from a large car dealership for selling my vehicle to them. I got an email saying the deposit was approved, then later it was on hold. I went to the bank to inquire, but alas the lobby was closed (I'll save you some time, the lobby is ALWAYS closed no matter what the posted hours are) so I went to the drive through to ask. I wasn't even sure if anyone was there as it looked empty. It as 4 Pm Finally a person appeared and I asked why there was a hold on this check and sh... read more

I am thinking of withdrawing my money and be banking and taking my business somewhere else. Been banking and doing business with ATFCU for a while now. Had my car loan with them, paid it off, and plan to apply for a another loan. I was happy doing business with them. After paying my car loan last year, I did not receive my car title. I called to follow up with them if I need to pick it up or what. They told me they mailed it to me last December. I did not receive any title on the mail. I verified with them my mailing addr... read more

I am closing my account with this bank. I became homeless and no longer have a physical address to receive mail. They have been charging me $10 Everytime mail cannot be sent and refuse to remove the charges. They insist their policy is you must have a physical address. Theft from the poor and homeless. Pathetic. Do not open an an account with this bank, they act friendly at first but they are just as bad as the big banks like Wells Fargo.
Business response:
We apologize that your experience and could have better explained the reasons for the requirement on an address. We understand that the returned mail fee was a frustration point and our handling of that request was not what it should have been. We appreciate your feedback and value the opportunity to serve.
Got an auto loan from them for a 2019 Hyundai Sonata and my current USAA insurance automatically extends coverage up to 30 days as i have multiple cars with USAA. I added coverage on 35th day i.e. lapse of 5 days. This was totally unintentional. Nevertheless ATFCU said they don't accept automatic coverage (no where on their loan agreement) and charged me 680 + interest for lapse of coverage. For the sake of argument, even if we denied automatic coverage and took lapse of 35 days; where in the world would someone pay 680 prem... read more

Their technology is outdated, their tellers are not friendly, and their branch managers are not helpful. And when you contact their main office for help they are just as worthless as their branch employees. The worst part is Telco's inability to handle a business account. After experiencing problem after problem and having this institution costing me valuable time and money I've finally decided to call it quits. It's going to be a hassle moving everything to another institution but it will be worth it. Yes, Austin Telco i... read more
