So disappointed in this bank. I was shopping for equity mortgage rates and they had one of the lowest and bonus no fees if under $100k. I sent an email requesting info because my home is in Milam TX (hour from Austin). I emailed back and forth with them getting & giving info to receive rate & terms. I was told to fill out 18 page application and bring it & check list documents to branch. I did that & was told that the bank did not service Milam county. I've been a loyal Austin Telco customer for 7 years. We have a checking, savings, and several IRS accounts. I financed my truck there in February. So we decided to purchase an RV. Retail 38,000 but we paid cash down so wanted to finance 21500. Seems like a safe loan considering the equity ratio. Telco was fine with financing but for only 72 months. My customer experience at the Bastrop location was simply awful. First the ATF web site says you can apply on line which is not true, you can print the appication on line and fill it out to save the loan officer time but you can not apply on line. You are required to bring the application into a branch location. That's when the real hassels started. Have Banked with Austin Telco since 2008, finally drew the last straw with "these people", no pun intended, after battling out with extreme"Nazi" bill collectors, who before the long arm of arbitrational obliteration could reach. managed to compile a king's ransom worth of ACH, EFT, ABC's and 123's In fee's. Constantly charging exorbitant fees anywhere they can get you. Direct deposit takes forever to hit your account, usually not til 7:30-8:00 am. Whenever I've inquired about why my coworkers all receive their direct deposit at other banks at midnight, they say they can't control that. Three times when I've been paid on a Saturday, or Sunday, the deposit has not gone through til whenever the next business day is, Monday's. I have banked with them for over 10 years. In that time my balances have grown from $100 to over $50,000. I have never overdrawn my account and used to like them because I wanted to support a local bank. Anytime I need anything more than a basic deposit it is HORRIBLE service. Tellers are poorly trained and have to always call someone because they do not know what to do. The 10 day hold on new checks is RIDICULOUS. Even getting something notarized has been challenging. The WORST bank in town!! Hell, the Bastrop location isnt even listed on yelp. Go figure! They will put holds on your debit cards and not tell you. They wont let you do online purchases AND you wont know your card was declined until you call the person you ordered from. And dont get me started on my Business account with them. NIGHTMARE!! They will hold all customer checks you try and deposit for 7-10 business DAYS! Do you know how much money this bank has cost us?! If I could give them zero stars I would. I have 5 accounts with them one being a business account. I recently started my own company and monthly I deposit over 100k a month into it for about the last 7 months. I went in last week to to discuss a line of credit to help with cash flow and expanding my business. They denied it. So I asked them if I could do a secured line with collateral, they denied it.
