This is a great bank, if you can making it in to there physical bank during their very inconvenient hours. If you you have an after hours emergency, LOL, your screwed until the next day. Any type of customer service other than going in to the bank you will not be happy. The website is always a pain and the mobile app is pathetic at best. They really have no consideration for the customer and the needs of a average person. Decided to buy a car for father-in-law and got pre-approved with Telco on Monday and proceeded to find a truck and then try to BUY the truck and even though he had good credit and was ready to buy, the Austin Telco lady dragged her feet and 2 DAYS later we called to find out what was going on (it normally takes 3 hours to buy a car from start to finish) and she said if our father-in-law had had an account we would have been 'bumped ahead' - and we were like WHAAAAA??? Terrible. I've deposited over 40k with them in the past three months, never missed a loan payment (in fact paid off any loans early)... now they won't approve me for a measly 8k loan. On my way to close my account.

If you like to be incredibly frustrated, pull your hair out in exasperation, and be hung up on repeatedly, you've found your credit union! Horrible service, indifferent employees, a culture of hostility and combativeness, and lack of ownership are all terms that describe your average interaction with Austin Telco! When you lose your patience, ask for a manager, then hold your breath in anticipation of which low-level employee comes on, pretending to be a manager! Absolutely awful credit union. They charge a fee for everything, more than i saw when I banked with an actual bank. I've been with atfcu for three years now, and in that time I've had an uneducated teller be horribly unprofessional and rude, have been charged ridiculous fees for ridiculous things, their new app is useless, and in the end, their interest rates aren't the best, their loan services aren't that great, and I don't feel I'm getting much out of this relationship. By far the worst bank I've ever dealt with. Allowed a third party to transfer funds from a joint checking account without even notifying me. The geniuses then transferred from my personal account to cover NSF fees created by that party, again without notifying me. They tacked a few more NSF fees onto my personal account because after they took it to nothing my credit card payments were processed through. Can't get my money out of here fast enough....oh yeah, there's none left!

Austin telco is one of thoes banks you hear good things only from someone whos been there a while. Never short term or a bunch of people just 1. Take your money elsewhere and especially loans. Its just one of thoes places that way behind with renovation no mater what branch and its just drops outs and college kids working there casual cloths no professionalism. This is FAR AND AWAY the WORST WORST WORST credit union I have ever worked with. After my experience with them I have decided it's much easier to keep my out of state bank who has fantastic customer service, and deal with long distance. Austin Telco has the WORST customer service I have ever experienced.
