My wife and I tried a few different companies when we moved into our new house some years ago. We had less than stellar experiences with them. Then we found B&B Air Conditioning and Heating Service -- and we've been in great hands ever since. We relay on B&B for all of our air conditioning and heating needs -- from regular maintenance on our AC and furnaces (we have two in our house as previous owners added on to the house). We had an excellent experience with B&B. A different HVAC company inspected our furnace and claimed there were major safety issues, turned our heat off, and told us we needed a full furnace repair or replacement. It was 30 degrees that night, but based on their warning we didn’t turn the heat back on. The next morning, we called B&B for a second opinion since they’re highly rated by Washington Consumers’ Checkbook and recommended by our home warranty company. I returned from vacation to find that my HVAC system wasn't responding. I did some research and found B&B had some great reviews in the Bethesda/Rockville area. I called in the morning and Brendan came out the same day to assess the issue. Brendan was pleasant, very meticulous, and checked everything. The issue was a circuit board that was fried due to a power surge. Later that same day, Brendan procured and replaced the circuit board, and then made sure the system worked properly before leaving. Brandon H. came out on a Saturday to check our AC. He was as pleasant and efficient as a person can be, and very knowledgeable of the systems in our condo (which is new to us). He showed real empathy when he informed us the situation was a worse-case scenario. The service call was on a special discount, so that was good! We will use B&B again, and hope to see Brandon again.
My air conditioning stopped working. I called B&B at 2pm. They sent Dave A. that afternoon! Dave A. has been here before and always demonstrates excellent service. The compressor and the Freon had stopped functioning. Dave worked all after noon. He managed to free up the compressor! Dave A. thought there was a chance to fix the system with a special part.
