My wife and I have dined at the Walnut Creek Black Bear Diner many times and usually enjoy it. I frequently have the fish and chips. This time (2/27/2019) the fish and chips was the worst we have ever had.... anywhere! The fish pieces were dry, insubstantial , had the consistency of cardboard and definitely LOW quality. The rest of the meal and service was good.

I have enjoyed your turkey sandwiches and dinners several times and each time I'm frustrated and disappointed that you don't include dressing/stuffing with the meal. One of our friends said you did on Thanksgiving, but not through out the rest of year. You pile on the bread slices, but that is not a substitute for dressing. Could you please tell me why you can't serve dressing/stuffing?

Hello mr. black bear again. You have listened to me in the past, and I’m sorry but here I go again. Sometime back you took chicken dinner off your menu, that saddened me, then the other day I noticed it’s back. YEA. So after a long day of running my grandson around we decided to have a meal at black bear. We were seated right away and then we decided to get our meal to go. He ordered your salmon and for a 13 year old, he loved it. I ordered the chicken dinner with gravy, and was very saddened that they were out of chicken. M... read more

I was tickled when I see on your website that you are serving fried chicken again. And with gravy. Well today they ran out of chicken. Ok, so I ordered the tri-tip. I asked for a biscuit and gravy instead of potatoes and gravy. I was asked if I wanted vegetables and I asked for fries. After running around all day we asked for our food to go. When we arrived home and opened our meal the salmon was great. My tri-tip was a good portion. Abundance of fries, a corn bread. Sadden no biscuit and NO gravy. Plus I was charged for th... read more

I am writing that I would like to be able to get pure butter at your restaurants and not a hybrid of butter and margarine which is unhealthy.

Waitress not cordial, rough handling of plates when setting in the table. Hash browns were mostly burned, seems that grill was to hot, not good taste due to excessive oil or old oil left in the grill or dehydrated potatoes not prepared properly, clam chowder not good taste, watery and not creamy. Two weeks ago we had a great lunch/breakfast, many times in the past in several locations was always good. Just for your information this note. Thank you.

We had the Valentines dinner for two tonight. Both my husband and I ordered prime rib. The waiter appeared distracted and had to come a second time to ask us what type of potatoes we wanted. The food was good, however we did not get the cornbread muffins that is supposed to come along with the dinner special. I thought perhaps we would get it after the meal for dessert. That did not happen. Also the waiter was passing red carnations to everybody but he failed to give me a carnation. So I was very disappointed. I thought ... read more
