In 1995, founders Bob & Laurie Manley, along with founding partner Bruce Dean, created the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, California. In choosing a name and a theme for their restaurant, Bob, Laurie, and Bruce, immediately decided upon the black bear. It was a natural. The legendary black bear is native to the Mt. RecommendedIt was so good I had chicken fried steak with a lot of mashed potatoes, salad, Italian green beans. They gave me a taste of all the cream pies which was so good they don’t open till next Monday but this was a peak event I paid nothing for my lunch. Service was great and hardly a 2 minute wait. Servers were kind and friendly. My coffee cup was filled before I could empty it. Sandi and I enjoyed it so much. You have to eat there ask for Angie(not Angie Glen) to wait on you

Great atmosphere and wait staff were amazing. Very large portions and the food is great, we will definitely be back.
