Our party of three ate a late lunch at the Black Bear Diner yesterday (11-3-25). I ordered the Homemade Meatloaf with Italian Green Beans and Bacon, and the Red Potatoes. It was an excellent meal and the service was good, too! At the time that we went to the restaurant, it was not crowded, so there was no waiting to get a table. I'm thinking this restaurant is the best kept secret in Cypress, Texas? I highly recommend the Black Bear Diner to anyone looking for a great dining experience.

Great morning visit I must say. The place is located on corner of 290 and 1960. Upon entrance the staff was very welcoming and helpful. It feels a lot like a roadtrip spot from a 90s roadtrip movie and I enjoyed the ambiance. I ordered an omelet and big ass biscuit. The food was quick and tasty. This is a must return.

I went here for my free birthday breakfast meal. It was excellent as always. My friend came with me and she got the two biscuits with gravy and bacon, and I had two pancakes with eggs and bacon, so I gave her one of my pancakes, and I got one of her biscuits. It's so much food you can barely eat it, and we ended up taking some home. I absolutely love their pancakes, and I'm not a breakfast person. The service was pretty good. I will definitely return, and I do recommend it. I have never had a bad meal here.

Sunday breakfast was best especially for my large family we all found something delicious to eat and service was too notch!

First visit to Black Bear Diner on HWY 290, and this place is BUSY!! Only had a short wait, however. Staff is extremely friendly and attentive despite the hectic pace they keep. Ordered the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and coleslaw slaw. Won't repeat the meatloaf order. Some may like it, but the flavors from the spices and sausage used didn't appeal to my tastes. Food wasn't horrible but not the best. Service was decent but the wait to be seated was horrible and they have issues with big parties. My experience was breakfast time haven't tried dinner

My burger was cooked to perfection. Yum! The only complaint is the condensation from hot food drips down on the fries, and they get soggy.( delivery) I know Black Bear has good fries, and nothing a air fryer can't fix.
