The food was great She had the Turkey Dinner with Mashed Potatoes, Gravy & Stuffing! I had Ham Dinner, With Double Mashed Potatoes, Double Gravy, Stuffing & We Both Had Pumpkin Pie for dessert! And Scott our server made us feel like royalty!0

Went to Black Bear diner in Ventura on Harbor Boulevard over the Thanksgiving weekend. We had a very large group and our waitress and servers were excellent. Never had to wait for anything. All food was prepared as ordered would highly recommend for family, dining and exceptional value.

Always a clean environment. Pancakes are so delicious! The food is consistently good. Our server Cheryl was fantastic. Cheryl was so friendly, efficient, patient, and knowledgeable.

Loved the bacon bleu burger and Pattie melt. Little guy enjoyed the grilled cheese. Solid family lunch experience. Great service too. If you dine in, ask for Cheryl, she'll take good care of you and your family!

Please inform you servers that you can order a Santa Maria Tri tip dinner before 4:00, I told her I had ordered it several times and she still wouldn't serve me. I ask Jesus he informed me she was wrong and would make sure he let her know! Thanks Jesus! Please make sure she knows the customer knows best! The four stars was for Jesus definitely not the server!!

We had a great experience at Black Bear Diner! The food was absolutely amazing, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. A special shout-out to Cheryl, who took exceptional care of us--she kept our coffees full and provided truly outstanding service. If you're in Ventura, definitely check out Black Bear Diner. I was visiting Ventura from Los Angeles for an event. On the way back to LA. I stopped at Black Bear diner. I love the decor. It makes you feel like you're on top of a mountain. It's a big restaurant and it was very busy, but we were seated quickly & the service was excellent. I ordered eggs and biscuits with gravy and they were delicious. My friend ordered a basic eggs, hash, brown, bacon and toast and she was very satisfied. Anytime I'm in Ventura. I'm definitely gonna stop at the Black Bear Diner.

....and the award for best local big chain pancakes goes to this spot! Enjoyed a meal here with my BF and we were not disappointed. From the friendly greeting to the value-packed meals, everything was spot on. I enjoyed an avocado-topped California omelette, which was super fresh and filled with delicious sautéed mushrooms & jack cheese.
