First time having black bear after several friends kept raving. I was impressed by the story and history of the Black Bear Diner. The owners truly wanted to create a homey environment matched with huge portions of delicious food. Quick shoutout to Josh! Our server. He was prompt with service. Continued to check in while managing 6 other tables . I ordered the volcano which is compromised of 3 pancakes, eggs, two sausage and two bacon. One of the best places to go for breakfast any time of the day. Waffles and pancakes are huge and served for individuals on a platter. Today I decided to go with a burrito. Service was slow today for some reason but, I have the time today. The portions were plentiful and all were delicious and everyone had leftovers. My burrito was a little spicy, exactly how I like it and, the chicken and waffles were very filling. I had to steel them, fyi. I think it was all reasonably priced as well. I'll be back

I've been here many times and always had a positive experience. Today I ordered the California omelette and not impressed. I could have made it at home. It was dry, the mushrooms had no seasoning and the few slices of avacado on top was stingy. Maybe a dollop of sour cream on top would have added some moisture and tang to the dish. The peppers overpowered the potatoes.

I have a gluten allergy and had a California Burger with their GF bread on the side. Our waiter Kelvin was diligent about ensuring that the order was safe for me. We received outstanding service thank you Kelvin for taking care of us!

My boyfriend and I came in on a Saturday morning for breakfast. We usually visit on Sundays, so we were not sure what to expect. We were seated immediately which was great because we had an event to attend after breakfast. After being seated we were greeted by Kelvin, our server. He was very welcoming and got our drink orders rather quickly. Coffee was piping hot and my boyfriend's sweet tea had plenty of ice, and he enjoyed the taste of it, perfect level of sweetness. First time here and the staff helped me to choose this meal. I don't eat pork and all meats including chicken Sausage Links have Pork contents. The portion was good amount. The staff showed no irritation even when they was busy.

I just got home from Black Bear Diner. I ordered the little less meatloaf dinner. I was surprised when the server asked me whether I wanted a soup or salad. I asked him isn't that extra? He showed me his little computer and said well it's asking. I didn't think I should argue. Surely he knows. Brought my salad, then my meal. All good. Then he came and said the total was $16 something. Did I want to pay cash or card? I was a little shocked because I believe the meal was $11.99 plus tax.
