We had such a great dining experience at Black Bear Downey! The food was good and the friendly service we received from Mike and Kyle were amazing! We were impressed with their welcoming and friendly attitude despite the fact that our party of 4 arrived 30minutes before close time. My kids and husband loved the food and atmosphere. Thank you Black Bear Team for your dedication in providing good service and good food! Keep up the good work!

Black Bear Diner in Downey is just great. You can have breakfast all day and they have some great sandwiches, bottomless sodas, and wonderful desserts. The place is clean and ever so comfortable. The staff is great. We always love our server. We have been a few times. They know the menu and are pretty fast, but they don't rush you out. The diner is super cute and you will be comfortable here. Our server Kyle was Great!! Kyle took great care of us! He made our visit with our friend very enjoyable with his attention to detail. The Tri tip was seasoned deliciously. Thank you to the chef.

Black Bear Diner in Downey easily could have earned 4 stars from me, but a couple of major missteps in service were enough to bring it down to 3. I'm a part of Black Bear Diner's E-Club where you can get a free meal as a welcome gift as well as a free meal for your birthday. The free meal is typically the Bear's Choice entree. The Signal Hill location is closest to me, but I was planning to get dessert somewhere between the Downey location and home. Update** I've since come back to BB a few time in the last few years and service has gotten better, still a bit of a wait though. The food has also been good with nice portions. The ambiance is load and chaotic because of how busy they are

So busy!! Bugs menu. They have their own parking. Went for special prime rib only on Saturday and Fridays Meatloaf with fried onion strings were comforting. Meals after 4 pm comes with baked potato option. The baked good are fire. The best pies. Even better than Marie calendars. Had the chocolate pie So fresh with Oreo cookie crust.

Huge shoutout to Kyle for keeping it together while the restaurant basically turned into a live episode of Kitchen Nightmares. Coworkers (specific lady) were arguing with the manager right in front of customers like it was open-mic drama night, and Kyle still delivered top-tier service with a smile. Give this man a raise (and maybe a therapist). Food was solid. Entertainment? Unexpectedly excellent.
