We had such a wonderful experience at Black Bear Diner in Downey, thanks to our waiter Mike. We were the last customers in the restaurant, and although the diner closes at 10:00 pm (we were still there around 10:17 pm), we never once felt rushed or uncomfortable. Great service! Kyle was very attentive and helpful with his service and ensuring we had everything we needed. This was my first time at Black Bear and I appreciated the extra effort that he placed to further enhance the experience. The food was excellent. Kyle recommended the in house made patties and they did not disappoint, I would recommend. The atmosphere was friendly and an enjoyable for catching up and sharing a good time.

Took the family to their first big bear diner experience over this new year's weekend. It was busy and got packed quickly, but Kyle W. was our server and he was on it. I don't know how he served as many tables as he did, but he treated us all with kindness, respect, and attentiveness. He never forgot any request no matter how many tables stopped him along the way. This American diner chain beats Denny's and day of the week! Food (5/5): Not only are the portions extremely filling, but also the taste is absolutely yummy. I typically get The Scrambowl which has smoked ham, bacon, sausage, eggs, bell pepper, onion, & jalapeño scrambled over country red potatoes, topped with cheddar cheese & country gravy. I came here on Christmas Day with my mom, sisters, nieces and nephews. Family Christmas brunch at a family kid friendly restaurant is what we were aiming for and got that here at Black Bear Diner. They offer a standard American menu with comfort foods choices. The wait was about 30-45mins. They don't take reservations only first come first serve, so plan ahead especially for busy days like the holidays. This place is so cute and the server was so sweet and funny. Michael really made our first time experience here a good one. We were well taken care of. Our food was pretty tasty and I believe my dad and I will be coming here again. I'm glad we happened to find this place while on the hunt for some where new to eat. Thank you Black Bear Diner!

Kyle deserves major praise for his outstanding service. He was incredibly attentive, professional, and made the entire experience exceptional. The ambiance was great comfortable, welcoming, and made the whole visit even better. Easily one of the best I've had. The banana cream pie was the cherry on top of my visit!
