Just went to Black Bear Diner for the first time and am very pleased! The food was absolutely great COMFORT food, the children's portions were also nicely plated and the waitress accommodated for an extra pancake with sprinkles and whipped cream for my grand daughter. Highly recommend this restaurant for a quiet dining experience. Very pleasantly surprised 5 stars

The service was nice but the dinner food was not very good. My mash potatoes were cool, but the beans were piping hot. I feel like breakfast may be where it's at as his pancakes were good. Next time we will do burgers or breakfast. The waitress was very nice although she did forget my husbands salad.

Everything is fresh and the restaurant is clean. The wait staff for the most part is good. However, the food tastes just okay, it's not bad or anything it could just use some more seasoning overall. Still a good option just not at the top of my list.
I really want to give Black Bear a better rating - I really do! However, service is sometimes hit or miss. Sometimes when we go, the staff is awesome! Sometimes, not so much... Food is really good, however, don't ask for a well toasted English muffin! The last 10+ times we've asked for a well toasted English Muffin were misses several times over... My wife has pretty much given up on ordering anything toasted.
The best and only breakfast spot I'll eat at when visiting Texas. Every time I visit, the service has always been very good. The food is always well prepared and good. You definitely get your money's worth. The restaurant is very casual. When you walk in, you'll find way to buy souvenirs from key chains to plush stuff bears to remember your visit and time in the restaurant. If you ever come across a Black Bear Diner, make sure you stop in and give them a try!
This time we didn't enjoyed breakfast red potatoes !taste funny and coffee $4 ?omlet and pancake was good
ORDER THE ORANGE JUICE, it's fresh squeezed and delicious. Bacon is thick cut, pancakes are big, hash browns were well done. A bear lovers dream. Stuffies and clothes available for purchase. Friendly staff. Large restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. Bear decor covers the walls. Even on a busy Saturday morning, food came out quick and delicious. We sat at the counter and the stools are a little far from the counter so we had to really lean forward and sit on the edge of our seats so probably not suitable for smal... read more
Honestly this place is mediocre. Nothing is very good or very fresh. I also think the service is kind of slow. I would place it just above Waffle House. If you want a great breakfast experience try a place called First Watch. They probably have them near the Austin Area
