Fun place with decent priced breakfast food and large portions. If you are sans kids or looking for smaller table options, sitting at the bar is fun to see the hustle and bustle of the kitchen in the diner setting. Reminds me of smaller delicatessen in New York. Food is good, dessert was the best - I had to take some home to enjoy later! Pot roast and prime ribs were flavored and cooked well. Bread pudding has good consistency and blend of flavors - it has to be my favorite from here. They also have cute merchandise that we couldn't resist. Giving it 3 star because the service could have been much better. I had a blacked salmon that was well proportioned and delicious. My server Erik was very knowledgeable on the menu what ingredients came on certain plates as I have a food allergy Erik was quick in his feet and polite and always smiling which made my dinner experience enjoyable Tables were clean and not sticky and no trash or food on the floor and utensils were clean.

Great experience the food was good and very filling! Our server Erik was awesome he knew the menu suggested some plates and was on top of everything always checking up on us! I will definitely be coming back and we hope we get Erik as our server again!

The salmon was the most I saw my daughter in law eat this whole time we were in San Antonio. She said it wasn't fishy and it was delicious. My son eat the whole GRIZZ And then one of my sausage. I didn't finish the Bear's Claw Breakfast the portions are very generous and filling. Our waitress was Abby made sure our drinks stayed warm and full. She was very friendly and accommodating. We arrived on a Monday morning about 10:30. The parking lot was busy, but there were quite a few tables open inside. Our waiter stopped by shortly after we were seated and asked us for our drink orders. Once delivered, he took our food orders, which were delivered quickly and hot. Always a good experience at Black Bear, cute decor with good prices for the food they sell. I love getting their pancakes even if I have to take them to-go because they are delicious! food was served quick and since they weren't busy we were in and out quick. Sunday's are extremely busy (to be expected) so don't judge them based on a Sunday rush, a random weekday afternoon is the best time to go and take your time eating and exploring the menu.
