Their mission was simple: create a fun and friendly atmosphere where the local community could enjoy huge portions of home-style cooking at a reasonable price. Today, we continue their mission at every Black Bear Diner across the country, as we passionately provide guests an outstanding experience. Went to the original location in CA but went to this one and it was good, not as good as the one in Mt Shasta but still very good. Love the options and service. Food was a 4/5 but ambiance and service were 5/5 great! Great for breakfast

LOVE THIS PLACE AND THE BEARS, and the fact that it looks kool like a log cabin. It's so cool. And they turned my change into money so I can play the claw machine I loved that service. And the food is amazing, and also this is my first review talking about food service and ambiance. Rather than just how tasty the food is cause I'm mainly more focused on the food anywhere I go. And this is my longest review I've ever done. This place deserves this five star rating :D

I was on a girls weekend with friends. We picked this place based on Yelp reviews for breakfast. The restaurant was cute. I liked the log cabin look and the bear decor. None of the staff seemed happy to be there. One waitress yelled at the cooks that the plates were too hot. They seemed under staffed for a holiday weekend. We had to wait, but once seated the food was good. The waitress was pleasant enough, but you could tell she wasn't enjoying her job. I really hope this was just a bad day! The restaurant is cute and t... read more

The breakfast was very filling! Took enough home that would feed another person. Our waitress was engaging and was constantly attending to her tables. She told us that they give plenty of food; she was RIGHT! We enjoyed our meal and would visit this restaurant again. Our meals arrived in just a few minutes! I had the scrambled eggs, bacon and French toast. I really did take home a complete second serving breakfast With my leftovers. The restaurant is decorated in a rustic theme with lots of BEARS. Very cute. They sell m... read more

Food 5 Ambience 3( no fault of black bear) I ordered chicken avocado club - delicious. Thick chicken slices and thick bacon. Ordered with fries and it was plenty with leftovers Husband ordered 2 eggs with spicy Italian sausage patty , potatoes and a biscuit . Sausage was great, mild spicy. Biscuit excellent. We went for an early lunch during the week and were seated by a man sitting by himself but talking nonstop to the family at another table.. was hoping for a nice relaxing meal but Gabby Gabriel Goat talked about his tr... read more

Clean, fast and friendly service with good food (Breakfast) in this case. Not the normal truck stop dinner. Portions are not an issue unless you hate taking to go boxes. This place is easily overlooked as you pass by the TA but well worth the stop.

Bought two small pizza and 8 chicken wings for more that $60 at Papa John's. Bought two pancakes the at least 12" across. With bacon, coffee, juice etc. That was for my wife. I bought the chicken fried steak. It was bigger than the pancake. With fries and a salad and coffee. At all came out to $37 and my wife and I got (her) two meals and me, 3 out of our left overs. Papa John's didn't last until the next day. Guess what I am trying to say is you get your money's worth at Black Bear. And most importantly the food was rea... read more

Wow who would think that you'd find an amazing diner at a truckstop. This one is located off IH 35 S. at the TA truckstop. It was packed. They serve breakfast all day a big plus. Wonderful, delicious baked goods. Generous portions of meals. I got an omelet and the bacon was thick n crispy, the biscuit was delicious. Will be back to try other menu items
