The California burger was the bomb diggity! Would recommend it to anyone passing through.
Black Bear - excellent breakfasts, especially the sweet cream pancakes. Great lunches, the burgers are the BOMB. Comfort food dinners - who does not like meatloaf & mashed potatoes? The staff is helpful, cheery, and usually efficient. They need more space, and more tapestries hanging on the walls in the dining room to deaden the noise of noisy diners. Overall, a great place to eat in Redding and everywhere else they have a store.
Candace was our waitress & she was super friendly & helpful! She explained how busy it was&we totally understood since we were making our way south from viewing the eclipse. She made sure we were well taken care of &checked up with us often. The food was well worth the wait! Shasta scrambled was delicious & the biscuits were Amazing! Wish there was a Black Bear Diner in San Diego!
Being from the East Coast, Black Bear Diner has always been on my mind as a place to stop while visiting the West. First saw their billboards and it only took that first visit to get hooked and become familiar with their great service, food and ambience. Will visit Black Bear Diner on my next or any visit out West where they are located.
The food was excellent and the staff were wonderful
Went there yesterday after taking my daughter to the hospital... She was covered in dirt, bruises, scratches and abrasions.... The waitress was amazing with her... The food was enormous and delicious... We all took half our food home... We can't always afford to eat out but she needed it... Thank you Black Bear...
Went there with my mom on our way to see a relative in the hospital. The service was good an food had good flavor they had new cooks so my poached eggs were initially over cooked but I let our waitress know an had them make new ones turned out perfect. I ve eaten at other Black Bears as well an pretty much always like the food I've ordered.
Food always good and the staff are always friendly and attentive. Haven't had a bad experience yet.
