I've not been to a Black Bear Diner of years. It is better than I remember. No question, the service is great. My experience is they make you feel welcome from the time you walk in the door. The decor is quaint and homey. The menu is extensive. They have breakfast options all day. Those options looked tempting. There are many great breakfast and lunch places in Phoenix and Scottsdale, and while most are not national chains, some are regional chains or local restaurants. Dined here yesterday evening. I don't really like to write reviews but I couldn't help my self, Julian was my server. She was professional friendly.. making sure we had everything we needed always attention to detail very impressed, Julian thank you for making our evening special you're truly a gem, I will be back and ask for her specifically again thank you

Join the rewards club and your first breakfast will be free. It was also very good breakfast with the sweet cream pancakes highlighting the plate. Eggs and bacon were perfectly cooked and coffee was always refilled and good also.

We had breakfast here on a busy Saturday recently and it was very good. We were seated right away. Our server was Jenna and she was smiling and friendly, and got our orders right. We didn't wait long at all for our meals. Eggs, bacon, pancakes and grits were all served piping hot, made the way we requested and were excellent. The orange garnish with lettuce was a nice touch. Black Bear Diner was okay. Nothing special. I got the build your own breakfast with bacon and biscuits and gravy. The servings are really big but the quality was just meh. Gravy was definitely from a packet and lacked any seasoning. Bacon was fine and eggs were cooked as ordered. My wife had the cinnamon roll French toast and they also didn't do much for her. I received great service from this restaurant. I ordered the chicken club on ciabatta bread and it was delicious. The only down fall was that the avocado on the sandwich was hard and not ripe at all. Other than that everything was good so I'll be back again.

I stopped in this location for lunch a few times when I was in the area. I would usually start with an Arnold Palmer and then move on to the Turkey Club. I most often ordered a side salad with Thousand Islands dressing. Everything was presented well and the staff provided good service.
