My husband and I I are visiting from out of town and we stopped in to try Black Bear for lunch and we really enjoyed it! -Menu has some great items. I had the bacon cheeseburger and my husband had the turkey club. Both were delicious. I forgot to take photos. My husband said his club was one of the best he's ever had. I've been to two locations so far, a Los Angeles property and most recently, a Scottsdale one. Both times I had their breakfast and was impressed by the serving size, quality of food and service. They have a varied menu with all the traditional breakfast fare you'd expect from a diner, but also some unexpected items like eggs Benedict or chicken fried steak. I recently experienced exceptional service from the new Assistant Manager, Billy. Hospitality is so vital in the restaurant industry, and Black Bear Diner truly excels in that regard. If you're visiting or live nearby, I highly recommend stopping in to enjoy a delicious meal! We really enjoy diners. We got the club, burger and a piece of chocolate cake to go. Food came quick and was reliable, although the sandwich was a bit dry. The dessert was just okay though, was hoping for a bit more moist/decadent cake.

I've not been to a Black Bear Diner of years. It is better than I remember. No question, the service is great. My experience is they make you feel welcome from the time you walk in the door. The decor is quaint and homey. The menu is extensive. They have breakfast options all day. Those options looked tempting. There are many great breakfast and lunch places in Phoenix and Scottsdale, and while most are not national chains, some are regional chains or local restaurants. I learned a few \years ago about Black Bear Diner, which my wife and I enjoyed for breakfast today for the first time together. We experienced quick and helpful service and tasty food. Dined here yesterday evening. I don't really like to write reviews but I couldn't help my self, Julian was my server. Join the rewards club and your first breakfast will be free. It was also very good breakfast with the sweet cream pancakes highlighting the plate. Eggs and bacon were perfectly cooked and coffee was always refilled and good also.
