I ordered a dish of New York steak with mash potatoes and corn and requested it medium cooked but the restaurant made it well done. That why the meat was kind of hard. I think Black Bear in Emeryville is better.
Excellent service and great food easy parking nice location. Similar to the other two black bears that I've been to.

Great diner! Full of classic American cliches! Food was good with the normal monstrous portion sizes! Staff were attentive! Overall a great little resteraunt if you can bear � the cliches!!
